The general offices of the Santa Fe Central Railway report that three car loads of Immigrant outfits were re ceived on the line today from points east and all billed to Stanley, in the vicinity of which place a large num ber of 'liomeseekers are now settling. Miss Avis Brum beck has taken a position temporarily as stenographer in the office of Territorial Engineer V. L. Sullivan during the absence of Miss Maria Alderete. Miss Brumbeck is a recent arrival in Santa Fe. Her mother is here with her and they have decided to make their home in this city. A fast race is scheduled for the Capital Skating Rink tonight which is to decide the championship of San ta Fe. John R. McFie, Jr., will be called upon this evening to defend his title as champion against Albert Clancy, who last week defeated the contestants who were anxious to meet McFie. The race will be for one mile. The Cimarron Swastikas, one of the crack baseball teams of northern New Mexico, and candidates for the pham pionship of the Sunshine Territory, are anxious to secure a game with the local club here next Sunday. Cap tain George Parsons received a tele gram from the manager of the Cimar ron team last night to that effect but be has not yet decided what to do about it. We is casting about for sev eral new players with the avowed pur pose of strengthening the club. A party cf officials of the Atchi son, Topeka & Santa Fe Railway, are making an inspection of the lines in Xew Mexico in a special train. In cluded in the party are R. J. Parker, general superintendent of the eastern grand division, H. W. Sharp, general superintendent of the western grand division, M. R. Williams, general fore man of bridges and buildings, James Drury, superintendent of motive power, and J. M. Kurn, division su perintendent at Las Vegas. With the exception of Mr. Kurn the other off! cials have their headquarters at La Junta. Mr. Sharp who was recently promoted to his present position, was formerly superintendent of terminals at Kansas City. The special train was here twenty minutes Sunday while en route west.
