Heiglie has resigned his posi tion as a forest guard on the Jemez national forest and left this morning on a prospecting trip east of Santa Fe. He had been in the city for about a week, aiul while here was registered at the Normandie hotel. Yesterday afternoon Chief of Po lice James H. McHughes sold at auc tion a colt, which was picked up on the Plaza a week ago. It is presumed the animal strayed from a transient outfit. The colt brought $3, Justice of the Peace Jose Ma. Garcia being the purchaser. Complaint has been made that , a crowd of young boys have been throw ing stones on the roof and breaking windows in the Presbyterian church. Justice of the Peace Jose Ma. Garcia is investigating the matter and will prosecute the offenders to the full ex tent of the law if the guilty parties are discovered. Saturday and Sunday next will be rather lively In Santa Fe. Pawnee Bill's show will be the attraction on Saturday, while on Sunday the best base ball game of the season is prom ised at the new ball park, when the local club will meet the Albuquerque Mcintosh-Brown to play off last Sun day's tie game.
