They had rooms at the Normandio. Venturo Baros, farmer at Galisteo, south Santa Fe county, was registered today at the Normandle hotel. He pur chased supplies while in town. F. Q. Blake, forest ranger in the Jemoz national forest, stationed at Coyote, was among Saturday's arriv als from tho north. Ho Is quartered at tho Claire. Mr, and Mrs. Walter M. Tabor of Olorleta, were gueBts yesterday at the Claire Hotel. Mr. Taber is the man ager of the Glorleta Mercantile and Livestock company. John D. Barnes, manager of the local office of the Wells-Fargo Ex press Company, has returned from Stillwater, Oklahoma, whore he spent a vacation of several weeks. Clerk Francis C. Wilson of the First judicial district, left this forenoon for Aztec to be present in his official ca pacity at the forthcoming term of the district court of San Juan county. Judge A. J. Abbott, special attorney for the Pueblo Indians, was among the passengers this forenoon for Aztec, go ing thithor to attend the session of the district court of San Juan county. O. D. Olmstead special agent of the general land office stationed in this district who has been on official busi ness in Colfax county, and spent sev eral days nt Raton, returned to the city yesterday. Judge John R. McFIe left this fore noon for Aztec, where he will preside over the fall, term of the district court of San Juan county which will convene on Wednesday, two days la ter than usual. T. J. Butler, special agent of the general land office with headquarters in Washington, arrived in the city yes terday and registered at the Palace hotel. Mr. Butler is here on a confi dential mission. Deputy U. S. Marshal C. E. New comer who has been in the city In attendance upon the United States dis trict court in session here, left this afternoon for his headquarters at Al buquerque, court having adjourned un til November 26. William Mcintosh, successful sheep raiser and capitalist in the Estancia valley, after whom the growing little town of Mcintosh was named, spent yesterday in the city. He was regis, tered at the Claire. Superintendent of Public Instruction J. E. Clark has returned to tho Capit al after a tour of the rural schools in Dona Ana, Luna and Sierra counties. While en route home he also spent one day in Albuquerque. Governor George Curry, who left here Friday night for Washington D,. C, reached the national capital today, accompanied by Major W. H. H. Supreme Court, was among .the court officials and attorneys who left this morning for Aztec to bo present at the fall term of the district court of San Juan county. Mr. Sena will officiate as court Interpreter during the session. G. H. Donart, city ticket agent of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway, has returned after spending his vacation visiting relatives at Still water, Oklahoma, where he formerly resided. He was accompanied home by his wife and children who had preceded him to Stillwater. Mrs. John S. Robertson of Columbus, Mississippi and Mrs. William W. Dur den, of Winona, Mississippi, are re cent arrivals In Santa Fe and have taken apartments at St. Vincent's San itarium. They expect to remain here during the winter. Mrs. Robertson is the mother of Mrs. Durden. Dr. O. C. Hyde who has been in the city for several weeks for the benefit of his health, will leave this evening for the Fort Bayard Military sanitar ium, where he will spend the winter. Colonel Abbott has been retained as counsel" for John W, Morris who is under in dlc'tment for the murder of Catalino Lobato s,nd whose trial comes up in San Juan county on a change of venue from Santa Fe county. Word has been received in Santa Fe of the bethrothal of Miss Jennie Eby of Silver City and Manuel R. Cha vez, of Mesilla. The marriage it is re ported will take place during the lat ter part of November, after which the young couple will leave on a honey moon trip to Mexico. Miss Eby Is one of the belles of Silver Cfty, pretty, popular and accomplished. Mr. Chavez is , associated with the general mer cantile firm of D.
