Among the novelties at the holiday
sale to be held at St. John's M. E.
cuurch next Thursday, are the "Bound

Miss Florence Hecker has resign
ed her position as assistant bookkeep
er In the office of the New Mexican
Printing company, and it is under
stood will be claimed as a bride on
New Year's day by Nigle C. Flint, as

The number of money orders issued
last week at the local post office, ex
ceeded by lar those of any otner week
this year. Tuere were issued 239 or
ders amounting to $1,759.51; there
were paid 163 orders amounting to
$2,657.03; there were received $2,730
of money order supplies, making a to
tal of $7,147.14.
Special services will be held at
Guadalupe church on Wednesday ev
ening and Thursday morning of this
week in commemoration of Our Lady
of Guadalupe, who Is the patron saint
in the parish. Vespers will be sung
Wednesday at 7 p. m. and masses will
be celebrated Thursday at 6:30 and
9:30 a. m.

at the annual Christmas sale of the
finild of the Church of the Holy
Vath which was held Friday after
noon at Elks' Hall. A Christmas tree
