T. K. Brandon, of the Moore-Watson Co.. of San Francisco, has his sam ples on display in the Penglase build ing. Mrs. Victor A. Peterson, who has been visiting her parents in Douglas for the past week, left on the Jeffer son for her future home in Skagway. A new stairway is being construct ed at the pump house. An agent of Folger Company, of San Francisco, was decorating P. H. Fox's display window yesterday. Mrs. Frank Pettigrove was a Ju neau visitor yesterday. Mayor Stubbins was also a Juneau visitor yesterday. Henry Brie was a Juneau visitor yesterday. A telegram was received from Se attle stating that Umi Aalto has en tered the State University at that place. L. E. Buell, the well known travel ing man, and D. A. Epsteyn were on the island today. A dance will be given tonight at the Star Temperance hall. The ad mission is free. Daniel Webster, manager of the Treadwell store, returned on the Jef ferson, and resumed his duties. Lumber is being handled today for the construction of new rooms at St. Ann's hospital, for private patients. The rooms will be ready as soon as the weather will permit the construc tion of the entrance and staircase. Eric Borquist, an old employee at Treadwell, returned on the Jefferson from a visit with his relatives. Last night the Ready Bullion de feated Treadwell on the bowling al leys by ten points. A big show will be put on at the Club tonight. The Rev. Whitcomb will preach at the Congregational church tomorrow at 8 o'clock in the evening. There is also Sunday school at 2 p. m. There will be Holy Communion in St. Luke's Episcopal church tomor row morning at 11 a. m. Rev. G. E. Renison will preach, subject, "The Message of the Words of Christ." Everyone is cordially welcome. Judge Lee Van Slyke, formerly com missioner at Cordova, is a passenger on the Northwestern enroute to the States. Charles E. H. F. Suesedorf, well known hotel man, of Valdez, is aboard the North western southbound. Mrs. J. Dougherty nee Katherin Mills, of Fairbanks, is a passenger on the Northwestern. W. H. Mendham, a prominent jewel er, of Fairbanks, is a passenger on the Northwestern, enroute to the States. Mrs. H. G. Steele, of Cordova, is going south on the Northwestern. Mrs. Horton, wife of a prominent business man of Fairbanks, is aboard the Northwestern, enroute to the States. Joe Martindale and Fred Vogeler, Iditarod mining men were passengers on the Northwesterfn enroute to Seat tle. Judge J. J. Finnegan, United States commissioner at Seward, is in town for a few days on professional busi ness.
