bers of the Masonic fraternity of Ju
neau, came over last evening to at
tend a meeting of the Douglas lodge,
and to assist in conferring Masonic
degrees upon two Douglas citizens,
Grand Lecturer for Alaska Rodger D,
Plnneo and Senator H. T. Tripp, Mas
ter of the Juneau lodge, accompanied
the visitors.
The Masons announce that they
have joined with Eastern Star and
made arrangements for a party tc
be held next Tuesday evening in the
lodge hall. Masons nnd their wives
and lady friends are invited.

ARRANGEMENTS PROCEED
FOR SKATING RACE
DOUGLAS, Feb. 25?Despite ru
mors that Rohrabaugh, or Juneau, it
not in condition and may not appear
arrangements are proceeding for the
roller skating race scheduled for to
night. If Rohrabaugh does not show
up, it is said, Van Der Wyer will claim
the race has been forfeited nnd ask
for the stakes.

SEASON IS ENJOYED

DOUGLAS, Feb. 25?The last social
of the season before Lent, given by
the Alaska Catholic club, was greatly
enjoyed last night by an immense
:rowd. Mrs. W. H. McBlain won the
prize at cards. Dancing followed the
:ard contest, and delicious refresh
ments were served. Mrs. E. Arm
strong and Mr. E. Mclntyrc furnished
he music.

Mike Koskela won the rifle given

light when he won the shoot-off of the

The Douglas high school basketball
earn Is training for the game next
Saturday, at Juneau. The game will
io the seventh of the tournament, and
io doubt will be very interesting.

The Eagles meet tonight and trans
