Boll took ton boy scouts out Saturday I morning. On leaving the Douglas postoffico they made it to the bridge beyond the cemetery In twelve min utes. Here the scoutmaster selected two companions to go with him, mak ing a trail as they went by dropping scraps of paper at Intervals. These three were given ten minutes start and then followed a thirty minutes J run over logs, through thick under I brush, over ravines and up the moun tain steep. It was an intricate trail. worthy of an old-timer. The .scouts hold at bay chafed un der the ten minute wait as though it were half a day. When at last per mission wus given to go, they went up the trail bellowing llko hounds on the hot trail of a deer. There were mnny ups and downs, somo slipping off of logs, and an occasional grasp ing of a devil's club, to keep from fulling, only to be followed by the wish that he had taken the fall. Now and again the trail was lost, but Quick ly would come the call, "here It Is," and again they were off. Then the end of the trail nnd the search for the leaders who were per mitted to hide at any place within fif ty yards. Fifteen minutes were al lowed for the search, and time was called before anyono had been locat ed. One of the leaders had thrown himself between two logs that tho searchers had walked over nnd over. Two others were hiding In a nearby clump of underbrush. Tho boys were tired and ready to go home after a feed on apples. All the scouts are looking forward to the next "hike" with great expec tancy, nnd others have asked tho pri vilege of joining them. COMPLETE CHANGE OF PROGRAM AT LYRIC TONIGHT DOUGLAS. March 24.?
