(Continued From Pago 2.) er's courts hna been scandalous. The fishing fleet, which at great ex pense was induced to provision, ship and equip at Juneau, has been driven from thlB port through the wanton de struction of the float made for it, and the restriction of the fishermen from using the storage and packing facili ties that had been provided. A horde of high salaried tyrants have been kept iu office. They have oppressed tho people but have served uo useful purpose. The firemen have been deprived of their Just dues while the Council has held money In reserve to pay sal aries to its members and nppolntees. Persons furnishing money and ma terial for tho benefit of the town have not been paid. Scandalous discrimination has been displayed in the lovy of taxcs.^The property of the favored few hasrbecn rediculously undervalued, while those least able to pay. or have refused to lend suport to the oppressors, have been mulcted through exhorbitant val uations. Not content with levying tribute by every possible legalized outrage the outgoing Council hnB descended to tho depths of criminal degradation by sys tematically wringing blackmail from the unfortunate women of the under world. Never in the history of Juneau has civic deceitcy been so shamelessly disregarded. The patronage of the Municipality has been monopolized by the Town of ficials who have divided among them selves without bid or bargain. Over one hundred and fifty thousand dol lars of the people's money has been frittered away. The town officials have been the principal beneficiaries. They have ignored every pledge of tho platform upon which they were elect ed. The treasury is bankrupt and tho outgoing Council will leave a heritage i of an enormous indebtidness to stand ] as a mortgage against owners of prop- . ert.v and a lien on the wages of the | workingman. The measures adopted for the per- | petuation of the saturnalia of inlsruh ? which Is closing is alarming. Kins- ! iendera who an- responsible for theoe ? manifold public Injuries are now seek- j ing re-election under the same old man- ? r./ < ment and the same old bosses. New ! j urines appear upon the ring-ticket? ? men who assert they were coerced in- ] *o becoming candidates. Judging the ? future by th*? past the sinister purpos- ] < s for which such weaklings may be ? used must bs viewed with greater ap- < rrehenslon. A still furthei and mors Intricate Intel locking of the intercs-.s ll-si' have preyed upon the town v 11! , cb.&e all hop? of civic advancement.1 "he passing of an election ordinan \ | during the last month of the Council's < term providing unfamiliar methods of voting and registration, neglecting .o publish its piovisions in the ncw.^pa ' pers and the fnilure to keep the regis- ? tration booic.i open during the time am! hours advertised ere l.-l" inci dents of chnrccieristic unfairness. ' The concdlment of the public, ac- i counts, the many misstaten.c nts oi fact and th s campaign of misropre seutation which these discredited pub- t ic officials have already Initiated has 1 compelled thU recital of deplorable events. While every charge o' tnis ar raignment in universally known throughout the community we hope ' that we be not compelled to adduce . evidence of time, date, circumstances i' and parties present?all of which we! are ready, able but most unwilling toj do. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the pledges of the foregoing 1 platform are pertinent. I Registration closes Saturday, April 4, at 4 o'clock p. m.
