The object ia t that the general public that has so freely and generously supported the church might hear a report from it,1 and know to what purpose its money' has been put aud the progress the church has made. Tillman, an employee of the Treadwell com pany. will leave this evening on the i spokano for Montana where he will visit his mother and the scenes of his^ former home for a month or two. The following passengers will leave; on the Spokane this evening for Seat-; i tie: O. M. Tillman, lver Haudslans.; Austin Arten, Peter Juderlind and 2 Japanese with unspellable names. Some repairs are being made to the1 stairway on Mayflower island, and that reminds us that Mayflower island,;. with its splendid pavilion, would be' a suitable place for the establishment of a historical museum in which might he housed the relics of earlier days and the present time. With the In creasing years, these relics will bo come more valuable from a historical point of view. Steamer Jefferson is reported out of Ketchikan and should be in Douglas tomorrow afternoon. The Spokane will sail from here at nine o'clock this evening. Inspector Weltrler of the postoillce department is visiting the postoillce iu lH)ugias today. A rumor is current that the .Marconi wireless will locate Its tower and of fice on Douglas Island, it being deemed the best location for securing a more perfect radiation ou account of the absence of high hills in the immediate vicinity. The ladies of' St. Duke's Episcopal church will hold a candy sale at Dahl's Store tomorrow afternoon. Considerable interest is being man ifested in Douglas ovvr the contest for Ljueen of the May at the Draper Club May Day dance.
