(??????) MINERAL OUTLOOK TO WESTWARD GOOD, SAYS INSPECTOR SMITH Sumner S. Smith, United States mine inspector, returned on the Ad-! miral Farragut from tho Westward, where he visited tho Ellamar mine, and other properties on Prince Wil liam Sound. Inspector Smith who was accompanied by Territorial Mine Inspector William Maloney, said this morning that business in connection with the Westward mines is looking very prosperous. "Tho increased de mand for copper," said Mr. Smith, "has enabled a great many of tho smaller properties to begin shiping, and those in Prince William Sound are doing especially well, especially the Dickey and Mcintosh properties. During their visit at Ellamar, the I inspectors investigated the two acci ! dents which occurred in the mines thcro about six weeks ago, In one of which one man was killed, and in the other, an explosion, two men were badly burned.
