Mr. and Mrs. Walter Granger of Thano expect to leave soon for Ari zona. where they will locate. Fred V. Berger leaves today on the Northwestern, to 6pend the holidays in Seattle with Mrs. Berger. J. H. Kline, of the Alaska Steam ship Company's office, and Mrs. Kllno leave today on the Northwestern for Seattle, where they will visit over Christmas. Henry Moses left on the Georgia last night for Hoonah. where he will buy furs. CORDOVA TAKING BIG ENGINE FOR WESTWARD The Cordova, which has been in the channel for the past few days un loading freight, Is at the Ci'y Dock loading the six big dump cars for the Alaska Railroad that were left there by the Seward a fe wweeks ago. The Cordova has as a deck load the larg est and newest locomotive to come north. The locomotive Is brand new. having been built by the American Locomotive Works and turned out in November of this year, and is con signed to the Copper River and North western Railway at Cordova. The weight of the new locomotive is 130 tons and will be used for the work of hauling ore trains from Kennecott. Lawrence Barrett, packed 10, 12 and 25 cigars In a box. Just as good as ever.
