The report of tlie Town Treas urer appears in another column of this issue and makes a very good showing for this council. \Vhen the men who are now in office took their positions there was consider able outstanding indebtedness, but this has been cleared up, large amounts have been spent on gla eier work, many additions have j been made to the fire apparatus and the town is free from debt, the outstanding warrants being more than balanced by the money due which will soon be available. J. Olson left yesterday on the Dora for Unga, where he will lo cate some copper properties. The claims were found by him on the mainland opposite Unga island, last summer, and carry a good grade of bornite. He will return to Valdez in June. --- .— . i !
