Bailey of Salt Lake City is being charged with as saulting Negro Comedian, Tim mie Rogers. Rogers claims that Bailey pummeled him and kicked him in the ribs when he arrived late for a show he was to give Aug. 2 at the local Officer’s Club. The entertainer was treated af terward at an Air Force Hos pital in Wiesbaden for a broken rib. An Army spokesman said preliminary investigation of Rog ers’ accusations had been com pleted and the major will be charged with assault and con duct unbecoming an officer. No trial date has been set. Rogers is staying in a Wies baden hotel, awaiting the out come. Bailey has refused to discuss the case with newsmen, saying the Army instructed him to make no statements while the in vestigation was under way.
