He was one of the youngest members of the 1958 eighth grade graduating class: Raymond has been an hon or student since his early school days. In 1957, he ’received the Outstanding Student Award from South Phoenix Woman’s Club. Ray’s favorite subjects are English and History. His hob bies were reading, dancing, and listening to records. He collect ed stamps until it became too costly. Buying records brought more satisfaction than used stamps. He enjoys playing baseball and football. His favorite movie actress is Elizabeth Taylor and his favorite movie actor is Kirk Douglas. He prefers the singing of Ella Fitzgerald and- Nat King Cole. As a member of the South minster Presbyterian Church, Raymond is active in the Youth Fellowship and Junior Usher Board. Raymond is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Warren, Jr., 2161 E. Violet Drive. Dr. Georg von Bekesy, a Harvard University scientist, re cently described how he had made a 'substitute ear’ that may one day allow deaf people to 'hear* by means of sound waves on their skin. The 'ear’ is a long tube like apparatus fitted with a mic rophone.
