An Air Force veteran of 11
years. Airman Thomas has been
stationed at D-M since Aug.
29,1961, coming here from Laon
AB, France.
Airman Thomas has handled
ambulance and ward duties, and
is now assigned to the central
supply service.
Col. I.N.J. Eggeling, group
commander, said, " This man
Thomas is my idea of an exem
plary citizen in every way. He
takes pride in his work, carries
the job through to completion with
the minimum of supervision, says
little or nothing about it, takes
the thick with the thin philoso-

phically and can be relied upon ,
absolutely.”
The outstanding airman is ac
tive in local church and frater
nal organizations, and has fin
ished three U.S. Army medical
courses through correspondence.
For being selected I>M’s Air
man of The Month, Airman
Thomas will be a special guest
of the Tucson Retail Trade Bu
reau at its regular monthly lun
cheon. He will be presented a
number of gifts, including a
special-engraved plaque signed
by Tucson Mayor Lew Davis.
Airman Thomas, a native of
Georgetown, S.C., and his wife
Mildred, reside at 417 1/2 E.
26th St. in Tucson. They have
five children, Rudolph Thomas
Jr., 11, Anthony, 8, Melissa, 7,
Gerard, and Maurisette, 2
months.
