Wholesalers.
An acquaintance of the editor of the
Jfews desires to establish a wholesale
and retail liquor house in this city with '
a view of handling California wines, in
the manufacture of which the members
of the firm are engaged. The law fixes
the wholesale license at $2000.00 and
the retail at S1000.CX), making an expeuse ,
for licensee alone $250.00 per mouth.
This prohibition license will no doubt
keep wholesalers out of the district,
for we doubt if wholesaling without a
retail trade would be profitable.

containing 87.4328 acres. The location
of these mines are recorded in the Re
corder's Office of "Juneau Recording
District," Alaska, as follows: The En
terprise lode is recorded in book 12 of
Lodes, on page 140; the Independence
lode is recorded in book 12 of Lodes,
on page 141, the Bullion lode is record
ed in book 4 of Lodes, on page 117, tho
Ready Bullion No. 2 Lode is recorded
in book 3 of lodes, on page 182, the Al
bion Mill Site is recorded in book 6 of
Placers, etc., on page 47, and the Bui- j
lion Mill Site is recorded in book 6 of
Placers, etc., on page 48.
The adjoining claims are on the
Northwest unknown claims, on the
Northeast the Shore lode and Gasti
neaux Channel, on the Southeast Doug
las City, also May Flower lode, on the
Southwest the Pioneer, Xmas, Great
Western and Great Eastern lodes.
Any and all persons claiming ad
versely any portion of said Enterprise,
Independence, Bullion and Ready Bul
lion No. 2 lode claims, and said Albion
and Bullion Mill Sites, or surface
grounds are required to file their ad
verse claims with tho Registor of tho
United States Land Office, at Sitka,
Alaska, during the sixty days period
of publication hereof, or they will bo
barred by virtue of the provisions of
