A vr large and enthusiastic meeting of Uniooiat aasembled at the District Court Room last evening to bear the report of tb. Committee on Organization and alo to take part in tb formation of the Club. Upon motion of Mr. Mighels, Edwin Irwin, Esq., was (elected temporary Chairman, and upon motion of Mr. Wells, Samuel Benson, Esq., was chosen temporary Secretary. The report of the Committee on Organization was then read and adopted ; and then upon mo tion of R. M. Clarke, Eq., a committee of three wa, appointed on permanent officers. The Chair appointed as stieh committee, R. M. Clarke, Gen. T. D. Edwards and T. G. Smith. After a brief space, the Committee returned and announced a their nominee the following; President, Edward Irwin. Vice Presidents, A. Curry, H. P. Phillips, W. D. Torreyson, Gregory A. Sear and John Black, Empire. Secretary, Charles Martin. Executive Committee H. S. Mason, Thoa. J. Edward, I). C. Turner, Jno. Stciner and Henry P. Krans. I pon motion, it was ltrsolred. That General TT. S. Grant and Farragut, in refusing to fight it out on the President's line, if it took all Summer, are entitled to the thanks of this Club and all good Cnion men. The meeting was addressed by Rev. A. F. White. R. M. Clarke, Esq. and C.en.Xourse, and just before its adjournment three cheers were given f r Grant and Farrairut. N.
