OVM COUsTTY TICKZT We bar barely lira and space, to My for the ticket wbii-h wf yesterday f ul in nomination by tbe Union County Convention tbat it i, taken by and large, a most admirable ooe, and one which deserves, at it will doubtless re ceive, the full and hearty support of tbe Colonists of Ormsby County. And just to reassure our friends abroad we would state that tbe Legislative Delegation is of the sort that will rote (or Nye's re election as faithfully as ever Berks coun ty voted for General Jackson. WASHOS COTJKTT F0 BLASDEL- A telegram wbicb reached this city yesterday afternoon conveys tbe gratifj- og intelligence tbat the Tnion Conven tion, by a unanimous vote, instructed the delegation from that County to tbe .Slate Convention to cast their votes for Blasdel "first, last and all tbe time." liood for Washoe I . AIT EXTRACT FHOH THE RSCOSO OF CHAS. E. DeLOHD The Sacramento t'nion of Monday fur nishes the following extract from a speech made by Chas. E. DrLong at Timbuctoo in Yuba county, California, n August, 1862, by way of illustrating tbe sort of a Union man tbat he was then : He asked the dear people if he had not done his whole duty while he was their rep resentative ; asked them if they enjoyed any blessings or privileges then that they do not now enjoy ; asked them if he had taken any of them away from his constituenta ; and aa nobody said anything, be took it for granted that they approved his course, and that be ing so. ne would ask tnem to vote for him aaain, and assured them he would oppose all the Abolition measures which might come before aim. He said be did want to Tool acv one aa to hie pnsitioa ; he was a Democrat, and waa on a Democratic tirket, and was o- in it for all it was worth, and would be pleased to have their votes ; and if thev cheae to vote for any one else, all he hai to say was, "Uo it, boots. It must be remembered that this dec laration of bis democracy was made by Mr. DeLone at a time, when by the dis asters which had befallen tbe Inion ar- ies under General Pope in conse quence of the treachery of those speci men "Democrats," McClellan and Fitz John Porter. Democracy was more bit terly Mt to be treason at Washington than at any time between the battles of Bull Run and Antietam. Had tbe Unionists better repudiate James W. Xye, always a through and uncompro mising friend and supporter of the Cuion, before, during and since the war for a professed convert who has merely put the Sierras between his aoti Union record and his assumed rejection of Cop perhead ideas nnd association;? We do not desire to be thought so uncharitable as to deny the rights and immunities of a sincere contrition to so great a sinner, even, as Mr. DtLong, but political mod esty (if there is such a thing) should suggest tbe submission of that mniii lious ge-jtleman to a due course of re pentant and practical probation. If be is the pure and undefiled patriot which he professes to be he cannot object to the re-election of so universally recog nized a radical as Senator Nye. We should prefer to know Mr. DeLorg's L'uiouistn by his works. TBE ABM-IK-ARM FABCE. Tbat onr readers may more thorough ly appreciate the arm-in-arm farce per petrated at tbe rbiladelphia Conreution. when Cutter sainted the rebel flag nod the delegates boohooed, we make a few extracts from prominent Southern jour nals : From the Charlottesville (Va.) Chronicle. South Carolina walking down the aijle of the Philadelphia Convention, weeping on the hosoru of Massachusetts, wa one of the mo?t tntichinff pictures since the lavinp of the Atlantic CaMe. It that dnKi't melt tbe North then thev are a stolid rare II seemed to ns in a figure, John C. Calhoun penitentiaily embracin the knees of John IJuinry Ailtmi, crying, "Oil, my Lord, have Mercy." From the Richmond (Va.) Enquirer. Did Mr. Orr go to Philadelphia to con fess that bis State lav on an extreme as tar out from troth and justice as Massa chusetts? That she was an equal ofTen ler? That, indeed, has otteu been charged against her, but it bas not been confes-ed until now, when her suffering and ber sorrows make it impossible without shame. And by her own son! Perhaps a capacity for dirt-eating is not without us uses, and hence, that Mr Orr is in tbe right place; bnt we reject any implied assumption of Southern leadership or impersonation, fur South Carolina, as connected with the late per- i fonnaace. From the Habile Times. It must have been a thrilling specta cle when Massachusetts and South Car olina represented by Geo. Couch and Gov. Orr entered tbe Philadelphia Con vention arm in aim. One enthusiastic observer, with a strong faculty for sim ilitudes, recognized id this occurrence the fulfilment of the prediction concern ing the lion (courA-nnt) and tbe lamb (probably Gov. t.rr looked a little thtrp ish) lying together the arlent affec tion they professed for each other suffic ing for the lying. It is also understood, though the published dispatches do not state it, that they walked under one um brella that being regarded as the most perfect symbol of unanimity, sucgst ing "two souls with but a single thought" (how to escape tbe rain viz: the reign of Stevens & 'o.) and in com pliment to the frontb, the umbrella was cotton thereby also denoting the new- horn disposition of the Northern and Southern representatives to cotton to gether. Tbe color of tbe umbrella was, very appropriately, green. We no less despise than fear all those unmeaning, theatrical displnys, of which our country has given so ninny disgust ing spectacles, from tbe unhitching of Fanny Essler's horses to the vulgar flat teries lavished on the murderers of Po land, when a Russian trigate last visit ed New 1 ork. Our lachrymatory pow ers (continues the Times) are much too hard to be moved into action, and turn the fountain of tears into 'he channel of repentance, forwhat we did and thought, believing it then, as now, just and holy in tbe eyes of God and man." From the Columbus (Ga.) Sun. Feeling assured tbat be would have stood upon his bead wrapped in the United States flag, and surrounded by Roman candles, blue and red lights, whirligigs, and all the other pyrotech nic adjuncts known to a first class thea ter, if it bad been demanded by the managers of tbe Convention, and would have concentrated public attention upon himself, we are surprised tbe Governor did not make bis advent with the Mass achusetts General more appropriate and striking by bearing in bis band lb- Pal metto tree, while bis partner in tbe pro cession displayed a dried counsb.
