Editor; Current Literature I'.iitor. Tub Theater was well filled last eight not so very full as it ought to have been, how eet considering the extremely meritorious character of the entertainment. "Caste" was played, and played with splendid effect. Miss Hinckley as " Esther Eccles" captiva ted and moved the audience as few actresses ever have done in Carson. She is a beauti ful young woman of exquisite figure, fine voice and possessing dramatic talent of a very superior order. We hope that our theater goers will all avail themselves of this opportunity to sec so charming an artiste. Mrs. Beattyas " Polly Eccles" wag full of v ivacity and life and made that character a very decided feature of the evening. Mrs. Stewart as the haughty " Marchise " played with that correctness and marked effective ness which never desert her; and Mr. Beatty's I)' al Roy was an excellent specimen of that good actor's performances in the juvenile line. The Misses Pixley wound up the per formance with some delightful songs and some very amusing darning. The bill for to-night is " The Avenger ; or, A Wife's Honor ;" Miss Hinckley playing the char acter of " Clarisse de Beaupre." " A Ro mance of a Poor Young Man " is underlined for Saturday night. The management also announce as in preparation, " Under the Gaslight." Mr. Beatty seems dc term iced to spare no pains to provide his patrons with " the best the market affords." ' Dancists, Attention. One of the gay est and best prepared balU of the aeaton eomei off this evening at Moore 4 Parkei'i Hall. Beauty, fashion, lovelinesa and a square meal will be there. The Hall ia the finest in the State for dancine, and the music will be tiptop. The affair is under the man agement of the ladies, who always give the most attractive parties. The godly and un godly can consistently attend this splendid ball, as the proceeds are for the benefit of the Church and the dancing will be of a kind that will tickle any sprightly sinner.
