TV BO'S I’HttttPJulTk. Whsl the “Sun** Hnyn of the Outlook. The “Sun” of last Saturday has the following: “ There can hardly be a doubt M to the promising future of Tybo. This camp bas run along steadily ever since its inception nearly five years *go. and its people have always been prosperous and happy. Money has always been plentiful, and it has circulated freely, owing to the large number of men employed by the Tybo Consolidated Mining Company, which is really the only company in the plaee engaged in mining. About six weeks ago the company had some financial diffi culties, which resulted in attachments amounting to about forty t bon ►and dollars being placed on the works. The people of Tybo felt gloomy about the misfortune, and expected operations would cease, but they were happily mistaken; the attach ments appeared to make no diilVience whatever; mining operations were pushed as vigorously as ever, and tbe fn nace« down tbe canyon Rtill belched forth their volumes of smoke, and poured out rich bullion iti yood quantities. and in less than three week* bullion enough had been pro duced to satisfy every attachment, and the Tybo Company— Nye county’s old stand by—is to day in a better condition than before. It may be said, therefore, that what may seem misfortune, is sometimes a blessing in disguise. When the troubles occurred a number of coal burners ceased burning coal, consequently there is a scarcity of that article, and only one fur nace is being run at prt sent. Mr. Hawkins, the manager of the com pany, informs ns that the mill will be started early in May, and we wish it a suc cessful run. as it is estimat'd that there are over sixty thousand tons of milling ore already developed in tbe mines of the company, and which can be extracted at trivial expense. The amount of ore as stated above would keep tbe mill going for years, and it is ex pect! d that a handsome profit will he real ized from it. The mill of the company is a twenty-stamp one, and has a White’s Oxydizing furnace attached. As soon as some necessary belting arrives the mill will be started, and it is needless to say that all in Tybo wish it success. ABOUT ADVERTISING. Haw An Eastern Editor Pats the C'ase. The following on the subject of adver tising is clipped from an Eastern exchange that knows a thing or two : There is now and then a person ho stupid as to believe that advertisements in the newspapers are not generally read, and that money ex pended in advertisements is practically wasted. Even such wiil concede that if a hundred men of polite address, of fluent fpeeob and ready wit, were to call, daily or weekly, each upon an hundred others, and get the ears of each long enough to say John Smith, or Jones, or Thompson, at anch a place, has such &ud such at such prices, or would sell a farm, or house and lot, or had lost a horse or pocket book, or would loan money, etc., wo say such men will concede that the services of this one hundred men would be of great value to 8mith or Jones, and in some measure ad vantageous to the party to whom this state ment was made. This hundred men could not be employed to go from door to door and make this statement to ten thousand people at less than a cost of several hun dred dollars each trip. All this is done by newspapers at a cost of a few dollars at most, and the visits are made week after week, day after day. The messenger who travels addresses himself to the ear, and take* the party addressed when he -may have his thoughts absorbed in business or other matters; but the newspaper reaches the party sought through the eye, when the reader lias his thoughts solely fixed upon .the.paper before him.
