Tue Ball Last Xiowt.—We have Kldom attended so thoroughly success ful and enjoyable a ball as that of last night, at Miners' Union Hall, for the benefit of St. Patrick'* Church, Gold Hill. The company commenoed to assemble at an early hour, and by tea o'clock the spacious hall waa densely crowd pi | with the merriest, best pleased lot of dancers Imaginable. Everybody and his folks were there, and all bent on having a good time. Nobody ever saw more Industrious, vigorously worked dancing, especially when It oante to tlie polka or the schottlsohe. In the quadrilles everybody kept so cially close together, with Just room to swing partners In. and ladlea with long dresses were In bad luck. The crowd made no difference, however, for everybody was bound to danee If they could find any spare scrap ol floor to do It on.
