AN UNLAWFUL MARRIAGE.
A Boy sail Girl Hastily United
lad as Hastily Separated.
A boy aged about fifteen ami a
girl a few years younger than him
were recently married by a Ju-ti e
iofNhe Peace in Nyc County, the boy
hawing procured a license by a little
thoughtful false sweuring. Tilt
parties eloped, the parents of each
being at feud and opposed to the
match on that ground as Weil as on
accmiut of the tender age of their
precociousoffsprings. Toe romance
reminds one of "H >im-o’’ ami “J ulit-t”
and the ’apulets’' and “M mtagues,”
The lteese ltiver Heveille remarks
upon eveuts succeeding the lusty
mili*ttal relation as follows: Con
siderable excitement exists am mg
the runehers along the Heese
river on aco >unt of the rota'!’* sllegalj
marriage. It appears that on tut
evening of the o"t urrence, while the
you ig >■ >uple were enj >yi g a dance
the m-ighhors of the ride's parents
went int > the oall r>om, and forcibly
took the m-w ly made wife from the
room ami diovc her to the resilience
of her parents. This w is done so
successfully that n d eve i the groom
or li s friends were aware that she
was absent until half au hour after
the girl and party had gone, and
■when the forcible departure «*!' the
woiitd-lre-wile was made k mwn, the
exasperated boy mounted a horse
ami secured the servjee* of two other
bus to help him overtake Ills hist
pri/.e. But, 1’! all was in vain. The
girl hail liecu safely delivered over
t,» her parents. .Vl this point tlie
groom found out that lie would
lie prosecuted for perjury—he having
sworn that the girl was eighteen
years of age when lie knew he was
swearing to a lie and immediately
made tracks for parts unknown.
While galloping at a fast speed his
horse gave out and it became neces
sary for him to procure another The
young man entered a certain house
on lteese river and asked of the pro
prietor the loan of a horse, but the
latter being informed of what had j
trauspired, positively refused to nc
ceeil to the boy’s request. He then
made his way to the next hous ■ and
without permission took a tresh
horse from its proprietor's stable and
drove off—where to, no one knows.
Search is tieiug made for the fugi
tive, and if caught it will go pretty
bard with him. This extraordinary
occurrence is to lie regretted, and
many expressions of sympathy for the
girl's pareuts were frequently heard
in this city to-day and in Heese Hirer
Valley yesterday.
What class of people may be said
to lie the most—Sluggards.
