LYON COUNTY TIMES, YERINGTON, - NEVADA Saturday.June 9, 1906. HOW ABOUT A CELE BRATION? ' But three more weeks and the day we all should celebrate will be here. Do our citizens propose to arrange any kind of a program for that date and try to have a nice little celebration of their own? If so, it is time they were at work. Daytonites, Buckskinners and Pine Grovers will turn out en masse if it is known that there is to be a celebration in Yerington. We can all have a good time at home if we will only get together and arrange an interesting pro gram and let outsiders know about it. _ Operations at the Bluestone. Quite a crew of miners is now engaged in running a big tunnel on the Bluestone. This tunnel will be a working tunnel about 7 feet high by 12 feet wide and will tap the ore bodies in the mine at a depth of 200 feet. Through this tunnel the entire mine will be worked, and it is understood that an electric plant on the river will furnish power to run cars in the tunnel and an electric hoist to ex tract ore from the levels below the tunnel. Superintendent Week has an ad. in this issue for con tractors 011 this work. It looks as though the Bluestone people were getting ready to operate the mine on an extensive scale. Employed at Ludwig. F. B. Stuart, Walter Widdell and C. A. Hart, all students of the University of Nevada, arrived here Tuesday and secured employment' at the Ludwig mine during vaca tion. The former two are taking the mining and the latter the me chanical course at college, so their work will be in the way of prac tical experience in their profes sion. Copper Ore Shipped. R. B. Fryer, Superintendent of the Bluejay and Gold Coin copper properties in this district, made a shipment of ore from the claims this week Wednesday to Salt Lake.
