Sergeant Holloway recommends the spay ing of inferior mares, thereby their service will be equal to a horse, always ready for use. They will till the saddle, fine buggy teams anil livery stock and always ready for the market. The fact is they are neater ani mals for light teams than horses. This is the most successful way of utilizing their ser vice and cutting off this unconglomerated end of this kind of stock. Keep nothing but good collies and fine bred mares for breed ing purposes and you realize the same money for your small mare as you do for the horse. Likewise the cow after being spayed is a better and fatter beef than the steer. Respectfully, apl2-5m G. HOLLOWAY, V. 8. HOMER DAVIS, Blacksmith and Wagonmaker. NEAR THE DEl'OT.
