November opened with a 'sprinkling of snow and a windy day. The Chicago Times printed in full the TRIBUNE editorial on the division of Dakota Territory. We will continue to have a daily mail from the east as long as the trains are daily, which will be for thirty days or more. Mr. Scims, the mail con tractor, will put an extra clerk and see that his tri-wceklv mail is a daily mail. Mr. S. is the right kind of a contractor and is entitled to the community's thanks. Sdual Meeting. Pursuant to call of the school board of district No.l of Burleigh county, tie legal voters assembled on the 19th oi October, and Cel. Win. Thompson call ed the meeting to order. On motien ef T. P. Davis, J. A. Emmons was elected secretary. T. P. Davis moved that lets 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6, in block 104, be se lected as the site fer the scheol build ing, and the school beard be authorized to purchase the same at seventy dollars per lot, which motion was unanineusly carried.
