We deem the following re morks worthy of the particular notice of tho friends of education iu common srhouis, us it goes to show most rone.luiively, that the method of teaching the Knglish language ami acquiring the first elements of 11 literary education, a adapted and pursued in tho Hooks in ques tion, is founded upou correct principles, viz. the Philo sophy of the .Mind, A Frenchman recently arrived iu this country, and pursuing his studies with a gentleman in a town near Huston, for the purpose of acquiring the Koglish langu age, having heard if Ihc sciies of School Books known by the name of the Kranklm Primer, the Improved Reader and the Genrral Class-Hook, procured them, and stated that he derived more benefit from the use of them inlctrnirgthe Knglish langua-u, than from nil the spelling books. Grammars, and Lexicon;, put together, Thu is a high tribute to the excellence of the so books and what we have not heard said of any other set ol clemeutary books of our language.
