For the Herald,
Mr. Editor: A County Musical Convention was,
a lone: timo aco. appointed at Pittsford, on the 0th
anJ 10th of January next; and accordingly, a large
number have made arrangements to attend it at that
timo. There has subsequently been a State Tem
perance Convention called at Rutland, on the lOlli
and 11th of January. And I am informed that tlio
ommitteo who called the Musical Convention
think of adjourning tho meeting, because, forsooth
they aro afraid tbe Musical Convention may inter
fera with the Temnerance Convention. Now I
think, sir. inasmuch as the Afusical Convention
was appointed some time previous to the Temper
anco Convention, that if either is to be adjourned,
it should bo the ono last called, and not tho one ap
mil nl riI a lon-r timo nrevious: and to which a little
regard might have been paid, if the two could not
gu on together.
However, I think there is no possiblo need
postponing either, since the Musical Convention
can adjourn on the 10th at noon; which will give
one and a half days to attend the Temperance L.on
vention. Two tUngs I think are certain; the first
is, that if tho Musical-Convention is adjourned
will be very much againtttho wishc of a large ma
ciettrt to appear at this meeting, -y r rft-

The Central committee havo faileil-olthough not

One thine: more. It was made, at the last annual

of drnrnsellprs, of temperance men, ifcc &c. These
