The coronation of the King took place at j city will be presented to Gen. Rob't Ander
tht church of castile at Korrvstoy on the j son this afternoon, by the Mayor and coin
l!rh. The splendor of the various proces- mon council.
si jns was very great. Alter the ceremony j The transport steamer Thos. H. Wann,
various addresses were presented to which from Fort Monroes reports the fleet getting
the King replied as follow--: The Kings of underway. On Monday off Hog Island,
Prussia have now worn the crown lfiO year-, saw four steamers bound South.
I am the first King to ascend the throne j
since the crown, who has oeen sur
rounded with institutions in harmony
with our times, but remembering
that the crown comes from God I have
been notified by my coronation in this sa
cred edifice that I record in humility and
know that the prayers of niv people accom
panied me in this solemn act. The love and
fidelity displayed toward- me since my ac
cession to the throne, and which has just
been manifested towards me in such a touch
ing manner, are tokens I may reckon under
all circumstances, of the fidelity, devotedness
anil self sacrificing spirit of my people.
Trusting in these qualities T shall renounce
the custom of requiring the oath of allegi
ance and fidelity from my faithful people.
The gratifying proofs o' their aiiection and
devotion atlords an occasion of a late event
have strengthened this confidence. The pro
vidence ot God has preserved the blessings
ofpeacetoour dear fatherland. My vali
ant army will protect it from dangers with
out. As regards dangers in the interior
Prussia t.will remain free of them because
the throne of her Kings remains strong in
the power and right of Unity between the
King and people which has made Prussia
great while it continues to exist we shall be
enabled on the ground of acknowledged
rights to resist the dangers of our agitated
period and all threatening storms. May God
will it so.
The Minister of State then read several
orders, also an act of amnesty and several
grants of nobility, &.c The King accepted
an invitation to the bail to be given by the
Earl of Clarendon in honor of the event.
