IN-THE' THEATRES
JACKSON'S
That excellent bill . of ! vaudeville
7 audiences at Jackson's Theatre all this
week, comes to a close, this evening,
and all who have not as yet -seen it
should endeavor to do so at one of the
closing performances tonight., for it is
one cf the most . pleasinR bills of ..the
season, , and is - diverting enough in
character- to suit : the ? most critical
lover of vaudeville. : .
"WhUe all the bills of vaudeville
which Manager v Jackson has provided
for? his patrons' have been uniformly
excellent ana tnorougmy . pieasnng m
every respect. ' the' program which he
will otrer next week surpasses in ele
gant, sunrptuousnees and cost any o
these previous entertainments, and is
a bill which should attract , recora
breaking attendances the entire week.
Heading the bill. for- -.the -entire : week
is one of the most - sensational acts
ever produced, and incidentally the
only act of its kind in the world, the
three sensational Rioehrs, 1 presenting
their nerve racking:, blood-curdling
spectacle, "Looping the Loop", in the
revolving globe. By this- startling
feat, the Roehrs demonstrate that it i3
possible for a man to ride head down
wards in a revolving apparatus Dy
mere strength alone. . - While the -cy
clist is riding, the- globe lifts -up and
turns on an edge, till it comes into a
vertical position, and then gradually
returns into its original position. , a'ne
dangers which accompany this per
formance axe many,- and the cyclist
practically takes his life into his hands
every time he attempts this feat. It
'has taken the three KoehrS over five
years of constant practice to accom
plish it, and has been attended by
many close - calls from death. : They
have oniy recently completed a, highly
successful - European tour, which in
cluded a stay of 18 weeks at the Lon
don Pavillion,, London. Eng., and where
they were pronounced the most thrill
ing feature that, had vere played that
famous resort. .
The remainder of the' bill is of an
excellent character and includes: Ivy
& Ivy. expert comedy musicians; Mark
and Laura Davis, presenting their
original comedy creation "Hans, the
Grocery Boy"; and Tom Bateman, the
uH-iicmij sauor. j.ne usutu tureo reeia
of pictures will also be shown. '
As a special added, attraction for the
last three days of the week Manager
Jackson will offer the tabloid musical
comedy, "Vacation Days", introducing
the famous German comedian, Irv
Clous, and a large company of talented
favorites. The playlet is magniHcient
ly staged, handsomely gowned and re
veals a number of catchy and popular
songs. Included in , the cast which
will present this charming little sketch
are Kuth Edna, the flexible doll; Mor
ton & Keen an, unique comedians; and
the Fairchilda. two dainty soubrettes.
Despite tne magnitude ajd brilliancy
of this whole program there will be no
increase in admission. - .

She's but a. little colleen gay,
Scarce thicker-than jne thumb.
But oh-, the word she spoke the day!
-Tis blind I am. and dmb.
Her small mouth had a pleadin 'twist
As though 'twas wishful to be k'ssed;
I thought it gave -the true word whist.
And hope lept in the heart of me.
But when I tried It oh. the blow
The little band laid on me cheek!
'Twas but a feather's weis?ht, I know,
But sure, it left me faint and weak.
And oh, the look that changed her

'Twas like the change of Erin's skies
From shine to storm the black sur

She stood there lashin' me bold ways
So weak the gentle tongue of her.
Compared with some I've got 'twas

POLI'S
A few years back one of the lead
ing papers of the state alluded to
Manager S. Z. Poll, in an editorial
.as. a- public benefactor'" inasmuch
as kf was providing the theatergoing
public- with a vast amount i of pleas
ure at a minimum expenditure on
the part of the public. -'
This, as has been written,' was 'a
few seasons ago and before the time
of big productions for -faudeville, be
fore the time, of the recruiting from
tie legitimate and other fields of its
best stars and .at a" time when a.
vaudeville bill cost a manager about
half . what it does now.
-v Despite Uie decided increase in the
salaries of acts and the really enor
mous weekly wage of some of the
big productions that have been seen
locally at Poli's here it must be cited
as a truism, that jthe prices ; of admis
sion to Poli's have not changed so
therefore at this day and date Man
ager Poll is doubly entitled to be
called a, "public benefactor." One
has but to take the metropolitan pa
pers of Sunday and turn to the thea
trical advertising jiage, where thoy
will see the names of vaudeville acts
appearing in New York next week,
and. a comparison with the bill ol-
ierea at foil's this coming week will
convince one that the Poli bill is
secoed to none offered in New York
ang there are no Poll prices of ad
mission in vogue in New York city
except at- the picture houses.
Heading the bill at Poli's will be
seen Gus Edwards' School - Boys and
Girls, the original little school room
vaudeville act and playing , season
after season while the others which
came after have passed and gone.. A
dozen of the cleverest youngsters that
Edwards could find after ransacking
the country ; appear in this act and
the bunch of singers and comedians
is headed by Lillian Gonne, one . of
the cutest girls in vaudeville and the
original "Sassy Little" of the act. In
the company there also appears the
Dancing Gordon Boys and Frank Al
vin and iri addition to the comedy
end of it all" the latest Edwards song
successes will, be heard.
As a special feature of the bill
Manager Poli will offer E. Frederic
Hawley and Prances Haight and
company in the t thrilling dramatic
playlet "The: Bandit," the most bril
liant offering in the dramatic line
that vaudeville has shown in years
and as an added feature there will
be seen Wor.dwood's " Dogs and Mon
keys, a wonderfully trained i troupe,
including the only trick riding mon
key in the world. -- ' . v
There will also appear Suzanne
Rocamora "The Girl With the Grand
Opera Voice"; J. K. Murray; and
Clara Lane in their offering "A Quiet
Honeymoon" ; La Toye Brothers; com
edy acrobats, and Charles and Fan
nie Van m the bit ,of stage life, "A
Case of Emergency." ;
The seats 'for the entire week are
row on sale at the box office and uJl
applications by mail, telephone or in
person will receive . the best and most
courteous attention.
This week's splendid bill . headed
by the Imperial Musicians and with
Jack Wilson and company the laugh
ing hit of the bill will be seen for
the last time tonight. Some classy
acts are on this week's bill Including
Beatrice Ingram and company in
'The Duchess'"; Ha Grannon, vaude

Brothers, sensational acrobats. Burns
and Fulton, classy dancers; : and
Jack Gardiner, the former musical
