The Methodist church, m which the meet ings were held, was beautifully deco rated \>ilh the League emblems tun. evergreens. Large stringers of yellow and white hung from the chandelier to the walls, and a beaulitulnialte.se cross with “E It.'' containing a latiu cross around which were circumscribed the words "All for Clnist," was over toe pulpit. The delegates began to arrive Wed nesday evening and by Thursday they were ^nearly all here. The reception column lee met the trains and took the Mailing Leaguers to the homes ot our citizens, who endeavoied in every pos sible wav to hospitably entertain them. Addresses, short speeches, and lively discussions were on the program for Saturday afternoon, and it was well carried out- The exercises for the eve ning brought out an audience that crowded the house to its utmost ca pacity. The music and recitations were excellent. Sunday morning and evening Dr. W. K. ilamuer, pastor of the Central Methodist church in Memphis, preached two excellent sermons in the Methodist church. During the progress of the confer ence. .loci E. Wynne edited and had published daily a neat little paper called the ‘'Daily Epworth Star,” in which accurate accounts of the pro ceedings were published. The Star was an excellent publication, and Mr.j ’—-' ,-7x * -v Wynne and l|is assistant* deserve great credit-tor t!|e conception and consum niHtioil of so good o plan as Mint of is Hiiring the paper. It displaced origi nality and was conclusive y;,nnf that the ftp worth League of our city em braces the most energetic of oar young people. The choir music throughout tire ses sion was grand. The secretary was instructed to ascertain the names of all county of ficials in the line of counties north and south along t he St. Francis river and mail them such matter as is now in the possession of the club with re quests to at once establish similar eliilis in their county for the protection of lish and game as far as our present law prescribes. The rapid growth in membership of this club expiesses the sentiment that they mean business. And there is no doubt that within thirty days clubs will be formed in all the ten counties that flank tlie St. Francis river and with the enforce ment of the present laws, in a short while the river and lakes will teem with lish and ’he woods and Helds be tilled with game. It has been reported, by those who do not know the law. that the object of the club would work a hardship on those who lish for a livelihood, finite to the contrary would the enforcement of the law bring about. The greatest latitude is allowed by the law. and the stoppage of illegal nets, dynamiting, closing runways, etc., would give the young fry a chance and allow tlie lish to spawn. It has been explained to several fishermen in our county and they joined the club with a willingness and earnestness to see that the law is carried out. The club solicits corres pondence from all who desire to attain the observance of the law. The U. S. Kish Commissioner prom ises to put half million young lish, yearly for live years, in the St. Francis l iver, if the laws are observed and the lish protected. This should stimulate everybody to renewed energy in that direction. When Nature Needs assistance it may best to render it promptly, but one should remember to use even the most perfect remedies only when needed. The best and most simple and gentle remedy is the .Syrup of Figs, manufactured by the Cali fornia Fig Syrup Company. GOLDEN^* ^HEDICAL^ DISCOVERY. The invention of Dr. R. V. Pierce, chief consulting physician to the Invalids’ Hotel and Surgical Institute, at Buffalo, N. Y., has, during the past thirty years, made a record in the cure of bronchial, throat and lung diseases that fairly entitles it to out rank all other advertised remedies for these affections, lispecially has it manifested its potency in curing consumption of the lungs. Not every case, but we believe Fully 98 Per Cent. of all cases of consumption, in all its earlier stages, are cured by Dr. Pierce’s Golden Medical Discovery, even after the disease has progressed so far as to induce repeated bleedings from the lungs, severe lingering cough with copious expectoration (includ ing tubercular matter), great loss of llesli and extreme emaciation and weakness. Do you doubt that hundreds of such cases reported tons as cured by “ Golden Med ical Discovery ” were genuine cases of that dread and fatal disease ? You need not take our word for it. They have, in nearly every instance, been so pronounced by the best and .most experienced home physicians, who have no interest whatever in mis representing them, and who were often strongly prejudiced and advised against a trial of "Golden Medical Discovery," but who have been forced to confess that it surpasses, in curative power over this fatal malady, all other medicines with which they are acquainted. Nasty cod liver oil and its filthy " emulsions ” and mixtures, had hem tried in nearly all these cases and had either utterly failed to bene fit, or had only seemed to benefit a little for a short time. Extract of malt, whiskey, and various preparations of the liypophos phites had also been faithfully tried in vain. The photographs of a large number of those cured of consumption, bronchitis, lingering coughs, asthma, chronic nasal catarrh and kindred maladies, have been skillfully reproduced in a book of 1000 pages which will be mailed to you, on receipt of ad dress and at cents in stamps to cover post age and wrapping only. You can then write those cured and learn their experience. Address for Hook, World s Dispknsai Y Mnwcal Association, Buffalo, N. Y.
