Death if Mrs. Andrewson and Her
Child.
On January 2d 1 was called to Goodwin
to conduct the funeral of Mrs. M. O An
Irtiwson. She was born in the State of
Missouri, Mirch 7. 1872. Her maiden
name was Cora 0 Stafford. She was mar
ried to M O. Andrewson February 22.
189:?, and they moved, first to the lnd'im
Territory and thence to Arkansas in 189<i,
and lived in anil near Goodwin. From
tliis place. Decemtier 29. 189S. she pas-ed
away to live in another world. When she
expired. Harlan Hobson, her little son. just
me month old, lay a motherless infant in
its cradle When the little one was but
(wo weeks old the mother had an attack of
spinal meningitis, winch assumed the torni
of typhoid fever, and her delicate frame
\ ieided In death after a fortnight of pa
tient suffering.
Mrs. Andrewson was converted when a
child under the preaching of a Methodist
minister, hut united with the Congrega
tiouallat church, from which site held a
certificate of inemlietship. According to
Hie testimony of those who knew her best
she was a true Christian
She was a comparative stranger in our
Slate, lint her good sense and good qual
ities soon endeared her to her new neigh
tmrs. by whom she was considered an ex
cellent woman and held in high esteem.
To her husband site was a most precious
companion. Patient, self-denying and
hopeful, she was a stay to him he will
sorely miss. And fo lay the sacred form
of his dear wife in the grave was a trial
the grief-stricken husband bore only by
the grace of Divine compassion.
But tlie teals of sorrow had hardly
ceased to flow when his heart was broken
alresli by the death of ins infant boy, just
twenty days after tlie mother was taken.
As if impatient for its mother, who de
layed her coming. Jesus, the friend of lit
tle childieii, hastily came to its relief, and
Imre it away to its mother's bosom
On January 19th 1 was called to conduct
its luneral. and we laid the little form by
it* moihei's side. There they sleep and
rest.
The father and one little girl, in tears
and sorrow, travel alone. But by and by
they all will meet again in a permanent
home and m a land without strangers.

Pierce’s Golden Medical Discovery will
prove an unfailing means of rescue and
restoration.
It is a very simple though eminently
scientific medicine. It is not a mere stim
ulant like so many malt extracts. It re
stores healthy power by reviving the in
nermost sources of vitality in the nutritive
system. It enables the digestive and
Wood - making organism to manufacture
good blood abundantly and rapidly, so
that the immense waste of tissue and nerve
fiber entailed by hard labor is offset by
a speedy upbuilding of fresh energy and
strength.
A prominent nnd venerable Illinois physician,
D Vowles. M D , of Fowler. Aanms Co.,
writing to Dr. Pierce, says: ” I send herewith
thirty-one (vi cents in stamps for ’ The People's
Common Sense Medical Adviser' in cloth bind
ing With this pittance for so valuable a work
(truly a gift to the public), I must express my
high appreciation of the vast amount of good
that you have rendered the public. A correct
measure of your gat lulue.ss never has been, end
uever will be estimated by the public: no, not
even by the muUitu4e of afflicted humanity that
has been relieved and cured by your medi
cines. Wherever 1 go or have been in the
United States. 1 find persons who have used, nnd
are using Dr. Pierce's medicines with satisfac
tion. for all conditions for which they are recom
mended. Never has one spoken disparagingly
of their action, and from having seen so often
their good effects. I am also enthused with con
fidence in their action in cases and conditions
for which they are recommended. It is not
common for regular physicians to endorse and
recommend proprietary medicines, but in this
ca«e I have no equivocation or hesitancy in so
doing.”
