apprehension of criminals. He is
unpretentious, brave, sober and re
liable, and thoroughly understands
the duties of the office to which he
a-pircs. Murphrce has always dis
plaved biavery and good judg.
ment in the discharge of the im
jortant duties of deputy sheriff,
and is spoken of by a number of
citizens as the best deputy Sheriff
Williams has ever had. At ary

date for sheriff and ex-officio col
lector. O P. Wolff i- a man of
courage arid knows no fear or hesi
tancy in the discharge of duty.
Tnese characteristics alone will
commend him favorably to every
voter, while to his friends he needs
no commendation.
Oscar \N olff has always been a
faithful servant of the Democratic
party, and is moulded, after long
experience in tho^ranks, alter the
fashion of a leader and standard
bearer, He is a staunch believer
in law and order, and stands ever
ready to defend the peace and dig
nity of the state against the evil
doer.
Mr. Wolff s now serving his
soventh term as marshal of the
town of Forrest City, and his rec
ord as a peace officer is before you.
He has always evidenced a great
interest in public affairs, und be
sides his sworn routine duties as
marshal, he has collected the city’s
revenues and looked after the im
i portant items which would add to
[ its growth and prosperity in every
department of tho municipal gov
ernment. Mr. Wolff now comes
before tho people asking promo
lion, and he deserves it. It is need
less lor Tiie Times to comment at
length upon his qualifications. The
name of Wolff is a synonym for
peace and the enforcement of law.
Ho is an upright man in his deal
ings, both public and private, and
we leave his candidacy in the
hands of the Democracy of St.
Francis county, believing that the
fittest will survive when its sover
