The Cosmos Club.
Tlie Cosmos Club rr.et at the resi
dence of Mrs. O. 11. 1‘ollwage, Mon
day, with a good attendance and was
delightfully entertained by Mrs. Tur
ley with a paper on the Southern
I’oets. This was interspersed with
beautiful poems from many of our
southern poets read by dilTeient mem
bers of the Club.
The members of the Club will entei
tain theii husbands and gentlemen
friends on the evening of the 7th of
April at the home of Mrs. N. W. Nor
ton.
There will be a called meeting at the
residence cf Mrs. J. M. I’rewett Mon
day afternoon, the 7th of April, at
which time the election of officers w ill
take place. Let there be a full at
tendance.
The president announced that there
would be a public meeting at the opera
house Monday, the 31st of March, at 8
o’clock, where the subjects of Village
Improvement, Libraries, etc., would
bo discussed. There will also be an
entertaining musical program, and all
w ho are interested in the upbuilding
