FEED SHIPPED BY EXPRESS l-aik of Local Freight Service Causes Several Logging Camp* in the Bottoms to Close Bonn Mr. F. (;. Wilson, of Whitmore, was in the city Wednesday morning on business, the principal fart being to register a complaint at the local Rock Island oflice* about the manner in which local freight is being handled on tliat section of tlie line. Mr. Wil son says, that east of Round Pond, the merchants and logger*, sawmills, etc., have not had a local freight from tlie west since August .'SO. This lack of freight service lias caused several large logging camps to shut down on account of not being able to secure feed for their stock or for their men. Mr. Wilson says lie has a large shipment tied up at Round Pond, which had been t lie re since August .‘to, and that lie was compelled to miss several sales at his store on Saturday on account of not being able to secure a shipment of flour wiiicii he had purchased from the Forrest City (irocer Company. This concern shipped a large consignment of feed by express to tlie bottom country Wednesday morning. This condition, is caused, it i* ije lieved. by the fact that the crew of the east bound local which runs from Brinkley to Ilulburt, has to do a great amount of switching, especially at Forrest City, and besides lias to iiai ' a long string of empty flat cai ■ Round Pond every day to tie loa with logs by the Round Pond Tciii.uiai Co., for the Forrest City Mantfacturing Co. Tills work was formerly done by a local switch en gine and crew which was maintained here, until about a year ago. Asa consequence ot having this work to do, the east bound crew is gen erally caught by tlie ln-hour law at Round Pond, and lias to cut and run through to Ilulburt to tie up. While here Wednesday Mr. Wilson tiled a message to Superintendent Copley asking that tie take some ac tion on the matter that would tend to relieve tlie situation. tvs STOMACH B le baby's stomach is H d the more food put B id worse it gets.
