SFPT. 27. 1012. For President , WOODROW WILSON Of New Jersey. For Vice-President THOMAS R. MARSHALL Of Indiana. Extend the sewers. Every part of the city should have sewerage. Sewer extension means improved health conditions. Good heath is the greatest fortune. Why not extend the corporate limits to take in all the additions to the city and suburban residences and residents? Surely they would be pleased to come In. Isn’t it about time to begin to think about paving the streets of Forrest City? At least, some of them? They need it, and it would be a long stride forward. With good roads and good weather, cotton ought to move rapidly now, and business in all lines should soon begin to pickup a good bit. Bring your cotton to Forrest City. Let all pull together for a Greater Forrest City, and make it a real live town, with push and vim and busi ness. This we can do by patronizing home industries, by talking and work ing for more factories, and offering inducements to capital to seek in vestments. The next election will take place on November —. The democrats have the most battering prospects of elect ing their candidates for president ann vice president, but in order to do so, every democrat must do his whole duty. Work for the ticket, and let's have a good old-fashioned democratic victory. About one-sixth of the population of Forrest City lives outside the cor porate limits. The town grows so fast that tlie lines do not keep up with its growth. It is important that ail additions to the city and all these Inhabitants should tie incorpor ated. Bring them into tlie fold and let us ail <1 well together in brotherly love and happiness. There seems to lie very little demo cratic enthusiasm hereabouts. We believe this is because of over-conti dence. Let us not imagine that tlie cause does not require our co-pera tlon, or that theticket will be elected without our \ote. tine vote is not much, but if a large number of demo crats think along the same lino and remain away from the polls, leaving the business to ids neighbor, it will result disastrously to the party It is the duty of every democrat t - v -><■ and urge others to do likewise REAL ESTATE TRANSFERS. Heart Symptoms The ailments of women include symptoms of heart trout s known as palpitation cf the heart. The palpitation is so violent at times as to be really painful and leads the patient to fear she has heart disease. Ninety per cent of such cases are not heart disease at ail but only a symptom cf a liver disorder which has affected tne normal action of the heart, and on applying the proper remedies the unusual throbbing ceases. The stomach and digestion need strengthening and the depressing effect of these disorders cn the female organism must be corrected. For the latter purpose there is no more effective remedy to be found anywhere than DR. SIMMONS Squaw Vine Wine It conveys a strengthening influence to the delicate female organism, re-establishes regular and healthy periods, overcomes the painful symptoms, builds up the nerves and puts the generative system in fine healthy condition. For the liver and bowel disorders one or two doses of Simmons Liver Medicine is all that is needed. It clears the stomach and bowels of impurities, helps digestion and the proper nourishment of the body the result cf which is sound, healthy conditions all through the system. The daily attendance of the Parrott school lias iieen considerably reduced on account of the children having to pick cotton. Mr. .lames Harris and family at tended the barbecue given last S.atur I day by Mr. Lon Pippin near Round Pond and had a very pleasant time. I Every morning the highway lias a 1 procession of visitors to Forrest City j | hurrying to pay their respects to | fudge Hutton Doubtless some have i learned from tire .fudge that the way j : of the transgressor is hard. The seventh grade pupils of the! Parrott school have all passed in their j examination preparatory to entrance ' to High School studies." They made a very creditable showing and win re ceive their certificates at the close of ! the school. At this writing nearly all of Mr. Sam Pettus’family are on t lie sick ! list. Mr. Pettus himself has been 1 sick quite a while and his buys have I had to look after the interest of his . farm, which caused them to lose I some time from school. There are several factors that enter into the make-up of a real good school Two of prime importance are the board of directors and tlie teacher. The directors have a greater responsi bility resting upon them than they often realize. Their most important duty and the hardest to perform to secure the best for the children lies in the selection of teachers. They have nothing so guide them most generally in their selections except the certificates of the applicants, and it is not unfrequent that tlie j grade of the certificate shows more! than the applicant possesses and often i a great deal less, it would lie most I fortunate for tlie scliools if tlie teach ers had a fund of knowledge far lie yond the grade of certificate thateach holds and would use it for the beiieiit of those under them. Jf such were the case our schools would soon enter upon a higher plane of excellence than can be found generally. The patrons and directors of any school that has such a teacher, one able to give instructions far beyond the com mon course, should feel greatlv grati tied at their good fortune.
