This is the prescription for a lone life given by an old gentleman in Con necticut. who is ninety-nine years old and still well and cheerful, “Live temperately, be slow to anger, don't worry, take plenty of exercise in the fresh air, and, above all, keep cheer- ! ful” Should the system get run down— , digestive organs weak—the blood thin j and sluggish, take Vinol, which Is a j delicious combination of the medicine I —body-building properties of cods’ I livers, with the useless grease elimi- j nated and tonic iron added. We re- j gard Vinol as one of the greatest j body-builders and strength-creators in ; the world for aged people. Mrs. Mary Ivey, of Columbus, Ga., Bays: “If people only knew the good Vinol does old people, you would be unable to supply the demand; It is the finest tonic and strength-creator I ever used.” We wish every feeble old per son in thi3 vicinity would try Vinol on our agreement to return their money if It fails to give satisfaction. Hatcher & Caldwell, I>ruggists. Forrest City. Frying-Pan 4'lult (iocx Ducking. The rumor of myriads of duck being in the rice fields and slashes of the prairies around Goodwin, enthused several members of the Frying-Pan Club to the ducking point, and Wed nesday of last week Mess. Jack Davis, Frank DeUositt and Col. Ed. Land voigt had their muleobile “loaded for bar," and by one o'clock, cranked up by that proficient muleteer. I'ncle Jack Davis, and with spirits light and kay, were soon on their way to the Mecca of their dreams. The objective point was the home of Mr. ,1. H. Powell, two or three miles northeast of Goodwin, who had often invited the trio to visit him. Nothing of interest occurred enroute, except in trying to avoid a mud hole our muleteer ran the car in a ditch and knocked the wind out of the car berutor (whatever that is.) The dam age was soon repaired: and we are pleased to say that the mud holes, too, will soon be repaired, for Mr. Jake Taylor and his road crew are “camped on the trail” on tlie Palestine road. On arrival at “Uncle Jim’s” we met a welcome from him and family that made us feel at home. Great flocks were seen flyingover. which filled the hunters with dreams of roast duck on theirhome menu for several days. P.ut on reaching t lie lake their dreams were rudely shattered by the knowledge they had continued their Might to parts unknown. Three awarded i>e itositt s prowess a hunter. Nil sums up tlie success of t tie balance of the party. However what was lacking in shooting was made up in tlie sup per which awaited us and the delight ful resting place, subsequently sure enough feather beds. Next day was spent in wandering through brush and briars and wading through mud and water, in the vain hope of ot.ee again hearing that a’most forgotten "quack: quack: q act,’ ' During this round one duck a> l.i led. and claimed by Jack Davis, whie was conceded on account of •hid, - ige. 1 lie hunt wound up at Goon in at noon, and tlie party head 'd foi home, feeling recompensed for their empty game bags by the genial hospitality of 1 tide Jim Powell and his family, and tiie pleasure of noting the progress of Goodwin township. 1 he hunters are also indebted to Mr. Joe Sartm and Mr. Powell for their courtesies.
