Saturday morn ing Bros. Wheeler and Bearden met with the officers and teachers of this school, and finished the program. We cer,‘ainly enjoyed the talks and re ceived so many helpful suggestions as to how to arrange our classes and to conduct them . There was an abunn ance to eat, and we were sorry there were no more of the Baptist school present. Mrs. B. R. Moore and daughter, of Osceola, are spending the week-end with Mrs. C. C. Dean. Mrs. Graves Bowen is on the sick list. She has chronic appendicitis. An apron party was given at the school house Tuesday night under the auspices of the Baptist Aid Society. Singing at the Methodist Church Sunday night was well attended. The school board met Tuesday night with all members present. The Workers Council of the Metho dist Church met Wednesday night. A very profitable meeting for those who were present. Mrs. George Burt is on the sick list this week. She is in one of the hos pitals in Memphis. Dr. George Brown has purchased a new Ford. Mesdames W. J. Burt and Frank Boyd called at Mrs. J. A. McClendon's Sunday afternoon. Rev. Guy Burt has been visiting with his father the past week. He preached here Sunday morning, that being the first opportunity his boy hood friends have had of hearing him since he entered theministry. The ball game between Whitton [ and Joiner Sunday afternoon resulted in a score of 9 to 4 in favor of Joiner. Chelford’s S|tar Reporter. BOARD OF EDUCATION. The County Board of Education m t at the courthouse Wednesday in regu lar session with Messrs. J. L. Dean, Joe Rhodes. Jr., W. M. Crow. G. W. Hill and J H. Ball answering present. Among other matters attended to by the board was the following.
