I here omit a long list of Re commendations, hi'licving that the Improv ed Ro'ary Stove has been sufliciently test ed, to recommend itself in this vicinity. Tho imnrovemcnts that wo havu mode upon the Stove for Iho last season are val uable; we now make the fire Plate nearly three limns Iho weight of those last year and turn the friction Rollers on which the cap rests, and various oilier improvements not npeersarv to mention. The Stoves arc Cast, at the foundry of John D. Ward, and from tho beet Scotch and iMonkton Pig, and arc not surpassed, if equalled, for smoothness and beauty ui tin it It . in this section of (lie country. N. B. 1 have recently seen a few stoves in this vicinity called Improved Rulary Stoves, that have no friction rollers under the cap, but turn upon a pivot in the same manner that 1 hrst lixeu nunc; oni niter using mine in that shape one year, I found that it did not answer my expectation. I discovered that heating the stove caused it to turn very hard, especially when the stove was loaded when there wa-- a kettle or boiler of water upon the lop it was al most impossible to turn it williout spilling tho water. I did not at first understand the rcoson, a it would turn easy when cold, but finally ascertained that by heat ing tho slove it softened Iho iron, and as tlio boiler would rest upon one sine, u caused so much Iriction thai it was nnpos siblo to use them wilh safety or conven iencc. and in order to jet rid of Ibis fric- lion I have placed under Iho outer edge of the cap melton rollers, nnd have tliem turned so as lo be perfectly true uml smooth. The few stoves above refercd to arc not made at Ward's Foundry, neither arc they made Irom pig or rcmcltcd iron, but from the raw ore, and the plates con stquenlly arc more porous and stoggy ; and the back fire plate' is not more than half llie thickness of mine. COMPOUND Chlorine Tooth Wash, the discovery of the chloride ofSoda & its uses by Labarroque of Paris, was an ad dition to the resource of medicine of llie ut most importance as a ncutializing agent. To counteract at onco the principlo of dicay, which commencing imperceptibly, sluwly gathers strength, and finally destroys, is the important service which can be derived from the use of chloride of sodn, when ad ministered wilh skill and care ; the diseas es of the Sceth being, in the great majority of cases, Iho result of neglect, and a grad ual accumulation of thu principle above alluded lo, it became obvious, from the earliest experiment, that the chloride was the proper remedy, and preferable to pow ders, dentrificcs, &c. nf whatever kind or pretension. By a chemical analysis il will be found that the greater part of thu chlo rine compounds so extensively in n.-e, do not contain a particle of the chloride of soda, on the agency of which their ethcacy must necessarily depend.
