Good quarters and fuel are at alt times furnished ; and every attention will be. paid to ma king those men who enlist and are deter mined to serve their country in good faith, com fortable and contented with their situation. The best medical attendance is always provided for the sick soldier: and no deduction of pay is made during the period he is unable to perform his duty. Should the soldier bo disabled in the line ol his duty, the laws provide a pension for him. By the above it is seen that the pay and al lowances are respectable, and that, with prn denee and economy, the monthly pay ot the sol dier may be laid up as ever thing requisite for his comlort and convenience - furnished by the Government including his sugar and cofTee. The citizen should present his recruit to the Lieuten ant or Captain and not to the Recruting Ser geants. ADDITITNAL INDUCEMENTS. By the I9lh section of the Act, "Approved Febuary. llih, 1847," each non-cominis-sioned officer, musician or private now in ser vice or who msy hereafter be enlisted during the present war with Mexico and who shall receive an honorable discharge either by ex piration ol his term of enlistment or for disability incurred in the ! course of bis service, will be entitled to a warrant of ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTY ACRES OF LAND, which he will be it liberty to locate ia one body upon any public lands that may be subject to private entry; or, he may, at his option, when honorhly discharged receive treasury scrip to the amount of one hundred dollars, bearing six per cent interest pa)aile semi-annually and redeemable al the pleasjre of the Government. .- Those who wish to enlist will make early ap plication, as it is desired that the ranks be im mediately filled up.
