Raymond, special commissioner of mining, statistics west of the Rocky Mountains and for the year 1868, and find it a very interesting document, although Idaho Territory is not given that prominence to which she is entitled, either in the columns of figures or in the commis sioner's remarks, which no doubt arises from his taking hearsay evi dence in our case and giving person al inspection to California and Ne vada. Ample justice, and no more, is done Owyhee County, but tho re port assumes Owyhee to be a major ity of the Territory in importance and almost ignores the existence of the extensive gold and silver fields to the north of us. The following is his e stimate of the yield of the Pacific States and Territories in pre cious metals for the year 1868 : ..$ 22 , 000,000 .. 14,000.000 .. 15,000,000 ... 7,000,000 .. 4,000.000 500.000 250.000 California.
