Anv attempt to give Mr Dyer an introduction to the peoplo of Holmes countv is perforce nugatory as''Dver" is a h use) old word in Holmes county, the family having taken an active and patriotic part in every phase of Holmes county's development fiom the chrysalis stage to its present pre dominant position among the galaxy of counties comprising tbe common wealib of Mississippi. Mr. Dyer received a University education, graduating with high hon urs at Oxford. Just as soon as he ar rived at the age of twenty one. tbe good peonle of Holmes county elected him as one of their representatives in ;he legislative body, in which posi tion he acquitted; himself with signal and marked ability and with eminent satisfaction to his constituents. Bince then, while not in anv wav aggressive in seeking political pieferment. Mr. liver has been elected to positions of public trust, such as tnavot of Lexing ton and attorney for the board of su pervisors which latter he hs held sue cessively through the terms of several hoariis and is still occupying the same position. The duties and requirements of tbe new office of county attorney are but an enlargement ot the office he is now holding, and his intimate and exact knowledge of every feature con nected with the practical wotktugs of the county government renders him ideally capacitated to perfectly "fit in" the county attorney's office His comprehensive knowledge cf law, in all its ramifications, is readily ad mitted bv all ever connected with the splendid legal talent of Lexington.
