To receive her guests Mrs Gwin wore an effective toilette of flame col ored crepe with lace accessories. Mrs. McBee's gjvvn was of shadow lace, en tunic, over American beauty silk crepe with harmonizing girdle. The contest for the entertainment of the guests was anatomical conundrum, the cle er conceits aiojsing much men tality aid friendly rivalry. The hard somelv gowned guests occupied the spacious reception hall and were clus tered around eight polished tables centered w th blooming pots of white hyacinths and narcissus, which gave the first tints of the perfume and path ways of Spring. For the cleverest so lution of the puzzles, a handsome bronze ink stand and ornament was presented Miss Loula Beall, and a toast book rewarded Mrs. Elmore's skill. A crystal vinagrette of smelling salts restored Miss Wilson's equilibrium af ter discovering she was the minority candidate of the contest. A beautiful bride pastel, with a verse of Love, was the souvenir presented Mrs. Me Bee. An elaborate menu and an ice were served during the farewell hour of the delightful date. Mrs. Lester Barr and Mrs. W. W. Wilburn assisted Mrs. Gwin in the handsome hospitali ties. to by On Tuesday afternoon Miss McBee, in anticipation of leaving town, had the Auction Club at an eariler date in the week than their usual meeting. Her charming hospitality was thor oughly enjoyed and Miss Hooker and Miss Julia Beall were the favored subst tutes. The interesting battle of skill ended in success for Mrs. E. F. Rhea in securing the highest scor^. She was presented dainty handker chiefs. A Springtide menu of fruit salad, sandwiches and sherbert was served after the contest. Mrs. Dalton McBee assisted in the happy hospitali ties of the afternoon. Mrs. Alex Swinney's handsome home claimed the Auctioneers Friday after noon. Springtide balm lent enthusiasm to the magnetic meeting. In the places of the absent members were Mrs. Ethel Keirn Jones, Mrs. Lee Hen ry Noel and Mrs. Leslie Johnson.
