Both principal and inter-1 est of the bond are payable in lawful money of the United States of America at the office of the county treasurer, Lex ington, Mississippi, or at the National Park Hank, in the City of New York, at the option of the holder and for the prompt payment of said bond with in terest as aforesaid the full faith, credit and resources of said Supervisor's Dis trict No. 6, Holmes County, Mississippi, are irrevocally pledged. , This bond is one of a total issue of $75, 000.00 authorized to be issued for the purpose of constructing and extending tha public highways in Supervisor's District No. 5, Holmes County, Mississippi, and issued under and pursuant to and in full compliance with the constitution of the State of Mississippi, and statutes of said state, including among others, Chapter 173 of Laws of Mississippi, 1916, and under and pursuant to the proceedings of said board duly and legally had and adopted. This bond and the interest thereon, together with the other bonds and coupons forming a part of this issue, are payable out of a tax to be levied an nually by the Board of Supervisors of Holmes County, Mississippi, upon all tax able property, both real and personal, in Supervisor's District No. 5 of Holmes County, Mississippi, to be used exclusive ly in paying the interest on said bonds, both principal and interest as they re spectively fall due, a special tax upon all taxable property in said District suf ficient for said purposes, It is hereby certified, recited and de dared that all acts, conditions and things required to exist, happen and be per formed precedent to and in issuance of this bond have existed, have happened and and manner as required by law and that the amount of this bond, and the issue of which the same forms a part, together with all other indebtedness of said coun ty, and of said District, does not exceed any limit prescribed by the Constitution of said state or by any statute thereof, and this bond is exempt from taxation within the State of Mississippi, and is a lien on real and personal property of said District. FUQUA, Clerk of Board of Supervisors, Be it further resolved and ordered by the Board if Supervisors of Holmes County, Mississippi that the full faith, credit and resources of Supervisor's Dis trict No. 6 of Holmes County, Mississippi, are hereby pledged to each successive holder of each of said bonds and coupons and hereby orders and directs that there shall be levied and collected in each year on all the taxable property in said Su pervisor's District No. 5 an annual tax sufficient to pay the interest of said bonds as said interest falls due, and also to create a sinking fund for the payment of the principal thereof at the time of maturity of each of said bonds respec tively, which annual tax shall be com puted, assessed and collected in each year at the same time and in the same manner as other taxes of said District, which special tax shall be levied and collected in time to meet the installments of said interest when the same falls due, and the same annual special tax so levied and collected to constitute said sinking fund for the payment of the principal of said bonds shall, from time to time, be safely invested and re-invested for said District No. 5 of Holmes County, Mississippi, in the form Hnd manner prescribed by law and kept and used solely for the payment of the principal of suid bends when the same becomes due, and It is further resolved and ordered, That said bonds, when duly prepared, ex ecuted and sealed, shall be delivered to the Bank of Lexington, purchasers there of upon payment by them to the county treasurer of said Holmes county of the purchase price thereof. it or N. on of to The foregoing resolution and order, having been duly read and submitted, was upon roll call of members of said board of supervisors of Holmes County, Missis sippi, unanimously adopted. On this the 7th day of April, 1919, at a regular meeting of the board of super visors of Holmes county, Mississippi, there came to be heard and considered the returns of the election on the ques tion of the issuance of Holmes county district No. 4 highway improvement rosd bonds for $125,000.00, which special elec tion was held pursuant to a previous or •der of this board for that purpose, and it appearing to the satisfaction of the board that said election had been held and conducted, and the tickets provided and printed as required by law, and that certiflej returns showed that the votea had jeen canvassed by the election com missioners to this, the next regular and results certified by the election com missinoers to this, the next regular meeting of the board after laid election, and that the majority of the voters In said road district, voting on the issuance of aaid bonds thereof, had voted for said bonds, therefore the board orders sAid election commissioners' report be entered on minutes, of this board as follows: to the We, the undersigned commissioners in and for the County of Holmes, State of, Mississippi, having canvassed the returns ' of special election held in District No. 4 | per on the 4th day of April, 1919, to decide , whether or not said district No. 4 would issue bonds for road improvements, find that there were 18 votes east; 18 voting for the bond issue, and against ft, showing a majority of 18 votes of for the bond issue. This was sold at par, accrued interest and a premium of $875.00, said bonds to be duted May 1, 1919; to be in denomina tions of $500.00 or $1,400.00 each; to bear interest at thg rate of 6 per cent per annum, payable semi-annually May 1st nnd November 1st, both principal nnd interest being payable at the office of the county treasurer, Lexington, Mississippi, or at the office of fiscal agent of the Holmes county depository at New York, N.
