The rappoMtion, in Haren, is that the dog had been raited on Ox Tail Soup, and a he Tried for an Ox took Cow's Tail by mistake. The probable moral is, "Take what you can get." They are now locked up here in the county jail. They are charged with causing the death of a lad named Fisher. who wab shot in one of the Carmel clothing factories. There is a good deal of myste ry sltont the aftair. The report first given out by the lads now in custody was that oung Fisher had shot himself accidental ly while handling a revolver belonging to Fisherman. The autopsy, however, re vealed the fact that the wound could not have been -elf-inflicted. As no one saw the shooting except the prisoners the State will have to depend largely on circumstantial evidence. A con viction or manslaughter only may be asked for by the Stale's Attorney, as there does not seem to be any evidence of premeditat ed killing. A plausible theory advanced is that Fisher was shot while he was "held-up" in Wild West fashion in an at tempt to frighten him. The excellent showing made by the "Ti gers" should bring the services of Coacher Ftill ''lark in great demand. He has cer tainly rounded into form a splendid ball team in the personnel of the Tigers. '"A Western magnate" is quoted as say ing that "Washington ought not to com plain at the baseball situation. That last winter their indifference to the sport was proven when they were offered the owner ship of the Washington club at a ruinous ly low figure -Jlb'.fiOO less than the league paid for it n few weeks later yet after a month's passing around the hat among capitalists and speculators not enough money was realized to endow a peanut stand. Why is it that if that great city is the baseball bonanza it is represented that some gentleman of money and nerve did not avail himself of that opportunity to make millions?" The situation is quite different now.
