in the Slate Prison, for forgery. The Argas

ming the air of an Injured Individual. But

hia trial would not have taken place, and It
ia more than probable that he would have
escaped prosecution forever on this charge.
But he insisted on being tried; he would not
allow so buse a charge to overshadow hia
