At a 1 SECTION be among 1 1 \n\n SIX PAGES Barberton Lodges 254,348 And 971 To Hold Special Meeting December 12 For Purpose Of Carrying Out Merger Society's Executive Board Authorizes Holding Of Historic Meeting On Sunday At Croatian Home, 407 Third St. NW Barberton, Ohio The members of Croatian Fraternal Union of America Lodges "Ban Jelačić" 254, "Hrvatska Sloga" 348 and "Croatian Youth" 971 are most cordially invited to attend a Special Meeting called by all three Lod ges for Sunday, December 12, at the Croatian Home, 407 Third Street, NW Barberton. Purpose of the joint session is to effect a merger of the three Lodges, official authorization for which was hand ed down November 24, 1954,f by the Executive Board of the Croatian Fraternal Union. This meeting will be call ed to order at 1:00 PM sharp and the chair will en tertain any and all discus sions aimed at bringing a bout the creation of one large, solidified and active Lodge of the Society in this industrial center of the State of Ohio. Nominations 'atftđ elections of all officers necessary for 1955 will be among the many interesting highlights of this gathering, the most impor tant in our annals. We have heard remarks that nothing is ever done in a fraternal way for the younger men and women in our midst. If that be true, then this is their golden op portunity to attend, partici pate in the discussions, and assume some of the leader ship. We are anxious to see young and old work hand in hand in the future, not for the, benefit of any one personally, but for the com mon welfare of all of our members. Each of the three Lodges is blessed with qualified men and women, both still young aild up in the years, and each should favor us with their fraternal wisdom by attend ing this meeting and permit ting us to benefit from their experience as leaders. A Concert and Play will be presented on Sunday, December 26th, at 2:30 PM, at the Farrell Cro atian Home. The event fa being jointly sponsored by the members of CFU Lodge 126, its affiliate Junior Nest 190 and the Slo ga Tamburitza Orchestra. Our one act play entitled "Prodani Djed" will be enac ted in the Croatian language by the thespians of Lodge 126 and promises to be a hi larious production which our old timers especially will enjoy. Those of you who attended the debut performance of the S o a a u i z a n s s o e time ago will once again have the opportunity to thrill to the* sounds of seventeen young boys and girls playing and singing Croatian Christ mas carols and old fashioned love songs. All members of CFU Lodge 31 are urged to be in attendance at the regular and annual meetings to be held on Sun day, December 12, at 2:00 PM at Javor Hall, 822 No. Canal Street, North Side. In compliance with spe cification of our November meeting, directly upon the conclusion of our regular or der of business we will take up the task of the annual ses sion. Chil dren's Home will present their traditional Christmas Program Sunday, December 19, at 3 PM in the School Auditorium of the Home. The children, management of the Home and Board of Directors invite all our mem bers and friends from Chica go and vicinity to attend this program. In addition to the Tamburitza orchestra, cho rus, and various Christmas numbers, the children will present some interesting dance numbers. As we grownups like to see our programs honored by a big attendance, so the chil dren work much harder and perform far better when they anticipate a full house. Southern Ontario Members And Friends To Witness Some Of Many, Many Facets Of Greatest Such Organization In World Hamilton, Ont. The long awaited film "This Is Your Croatian Fraternal Union!" will have its initial Canadian showing in Hamilton, at the Croatian Hall, 173 Beach Road, on Sunday, December 19th, promptly at 7:30 PM. To make this a successful affair and a memorable one for all CFU affiliates, for the very first time in our history all CFU Lodges and Junior Nests of Hamilton atfe working hand in hand and harmony. Consequently, this Concert and film night will be spon sored by Lodges 644 and 954, O u evening ffrogram will get under way prompt ly at 7:30 PM, with bro. Michael Bradica acting as Chairman of the joint Com mittee. He will introduce Anne At this point bro. All mem bers of Junior Nest 38 are urged to be at the Croatian Home, 4th and Antisbury Streets, on Saturday, Decem ber 18th, at 2:00 PM, to re ceive their Christmas treats. Parents of our Nest affili ates who are in arrears in the payment of their dues, please straighten out the debt be fore December 15th as'we will be forced to suspend all mem bers who are delinquent. We do not like to do this but in all cases we have no other alternative. Catherine Pecak, Mgr. New Song-Dance Group Opening the Concert will be the "Zlatne Žice" Tambur itza Orchestra, a group spon sored by the Croatian Na tional Home. All are members of Junior Nest 603. This en semble will also be heard during another portion of the program. Grand finale of the festivi ties will be the performance of a newly formed song and dance group ranging in age between five and thirteen years. Sponsored by the Cro atian National Home, these youngsters are members of either Nest 603 or 397 and are uhder the capable direc tion of Anne Loncarich. Brkich, English Editor of the "Zajedničar," gives us a rear window view into the workings of the CFU Home Office in i s u i s e i a Staff, the printing and as sembling of the "Zee" and many other interesting de tails which go into the making of this nerve cen ter of our great society. We will also view interest ing sidelines in the unique Summer School inaugurated by Gary, Indiana, Junior Nest 10 members. Here the arts of the kolo dance, vari ous crafts and lessons in the Croatian language instill our o e rn Croatian-American youngsters with a new re spect for the folklore of their parents. Santa Claus To Attend As a fitting climax of the movie we see the everyday living of the children housed in the CFU's pride and joy, the Children's Home in Des Plaines, 111. The annual 4th of July festival at the Home is also filmed in all its splen dor and magnitude. A cordial invitation to at tend this great event is ex tended to all CFU members, non-members and friends in Hamilton, and other colonies in nearby areas.. We will have a silver collection at the door, so if you're working or are unemployed, you'll all be welcome. We wish to make special note at this time of the fact that Santa Claus will be at the Croatian Hal! ?n the same day between 6:80 and 7:30 PM to distribute gifts to Nest 397 members.
