Lawrenceville Junior Order Nest 67 Puts Finishing Touches To Yule Party Pittsburgh, Pa. Monday, December 20th, is the day set aside for the Annual Christ mas Party for the youngsters of Junior Nest 67. The time is 7:30 PM, at the beautiful Bratska Sloga Hall, Law renceville. We appeal to thev parents of our young members to bring their children down to the party and help them cele brate a happy event. It is just such affairs as these which make our Juniors conscious of our organization and fami liar with the Croatian Fra ternal Union. The party is to be a gala Etna Nest Treat Due December 11 Etna, Pa. The young sters of Junior Nest 21 are in for another annual Christ mas treat on Saturday, De cember 11th, at 7:30 PM* at the Croatian 4*0 Bridge Street. The usual gala festivities will prevail what with gobs of goodies to consume and the favorite beverages plentiful during the entire event. We'll have movies and San ta himself promises to ride into town that very day to distribute the treats we have in store for our kiddies. The parents are naturally invited to bring the kids down to the Croatian Home and then stay around to enjoy the fun right along with them. You'll all be received most cordially. Santa Claus will be at Karlovich's Kocktail Lounge on Sunday afternoon, December 12, to meet all the good Vanguards and members of the Junior Nest. There will be games and prizes and goodies for the young fry, also movies. There will be fun for the grownups too. Vanguards are requested to bring a 25c gift. Juniors just bring themselves, good dispositions and appe tites^1 Annual meeting of the "Vanguard" Lodge 807 will be held immediately after the regular December meeting, Thursday, December 9. Lodge Officers, parents, and kiddies from one to one hundred years of age will be welcome. A fine program was pre sented last year and we had a very nice gathering. Due to an error on the part of one of the Zajedriičar's West Coast informants, the name Of our young Junior Nest 246 member, Robert Zurich, was omitted from the lineup of stars who performed at ooth the October 10th Sixtieth An niversary Celebration of the CFU and the October 24 pro gram staged in San Francis co by the Northern California Central Committee. Robert is a hard working member of the recently or ganized Junior Nest 246 Glee Club which was a participant in these affairs and should, by all means, receive the pro per credit for his performan ces. We realize that omissions of this sort are unintentional, and we regret that mistakes such as these do happen. Sor ry that your name was left out, Robert, but we hope you will forgive thos6 involved, those who handled the publi city sent us from the West Coast. Blame them not us! Editorial Staff Los Angeles Nest 24 In Party December 18th At St. Anthony's Hall Los Angeles, Calif. A ga la Yuletide Party is being planned for the members and friends of Junior Nest 24. It will be held on Saturday, De cember 18, at St. Anthony's Croatian Church Hall, 714 Alpine Street, at 2:30 PM. Each and every member of the Nest is cordially invited to attend and also bring along a friend. Possibly little Suzie next door might enjoy the festivities, so tell her to come along as your guest. We are having games, pri zes, entertainment, -inging and refreshments of all sorts. Santa Claus promises to be on hand to help dish out the fun and frolic, so you kiddies come down and tell him your Christmas troubles and de sires. "Van guard" ES Lodge 807 affili ates and those of Junior Nest 630 will be feted at a Christ mas Party on Sunday, De cember 12, 1954, at Reberni sek's Half. The affair is slated to take up most of the afternoon what with,a tasty luncheon, refreshments, music and old St, Nick himself, on our food and program menu. Santa promises to have a little something for the kiddies and the older folks are asked to bring along a twenty-five cent gift for exchanging. Once again we issue a call for more women to partici pate in our new Mother's Club venture. Duke Tamburitzans In Conquest Of East Chi East Chicago, Ind. A near capacity crowd filled the Roosevelt High School Audi torium, East Chicago, on No vember 28th for the annual concert of the Duquesne Uni versity Tamburitzans, pre sented by the "Sloga" Cro atian Singing Society. This annual event is "Slo ga's" second big production each year, the first being the glee club-a affair in the spring. The Tamburitzans present ed an appealing, vigorous pro gram which was entertaining from start to finish. They are directed by Walter Kolar. The group, comprised df singers, dancers and instru mentalists, was attired in au thentic, handmade European costumes. The cultural, enter taining show was one of the s o i a i i s o e Thanksgiving weekend in this area. Following the co li e t, "Sloga" officials feted the Tammies with a dinner at a local restaurant. The officers are Andrew Livovich, Presi dent, Matthew Rivich, Vice President, Mrs. Anthony Es till, Secretary and Matthew Mudrovich, Treasurer. That evening "Sloga" spon sored a dance at the Croatian Home in Indiana Harbor. A e i a n a n E u o e a n dance music was provided by the two musical ensembles within the Tammie organiza tion. As usual, the dance drew a huge crowd. Publicity Committee George Katalinich and Thomas Klobučar Roslyn Lodge 56 Members Take Leave To Serve In Armed Forces Of Country Roslyn, Wash. Two members of Roslyn C4 F. U. Lodge 56, step-brothers. Get*. Katalinich and Tom Klobu čar, are currently, serving their country in the Armed Forces. George was born on Aug ust 8. 1933, attended Cle Elum High School and grad uated with the Class of 1951. He attended Central Wash ington College of Education at Ellensburg for two years prior to his induction into the Army in March, 1953. Bro. Katalinich received his basic training in Califor nia and is now stationed in Korea. His step-brother Tom Klo bučar, was born on March 6, 1931 and graduated from Clć Elum High School in 1951. Tom enlisted* in the United East St. Louis Youth In For Standout Time Sunday, December 19 East St. Louis, 111. The management of Nest 75, as well as Lodges "Ban Josip Jelacic" and "Vjerne Hrvati ce" of East St. Louis, take pleasure in announcing that at 2 PM, Sunday, December 19, at the Croatian Hall, 9th and Lynch Avenues, a Xmas Party will be given to mem bers of the Junior Order. As now planned, gifts will be distributed to all Juniors regardless of age, perhaps not in person by the grand old guy known as Santa Claus but by one of his Lodge rep resentatives. All in all an en tertaining afternoon is plann ed for everyone, both young and old, including a number of games to make the event more interesting. Therefore, you Juniors please mark your calendars accordingly and remember in addition to yourselves your parents are most cordially in vited. The An nual Junior Order Nest 113 Christmas Party is scheduled to take place Sunday, Decem ber 19, at 2:00 PM in the Cro atian Home Hall.. States Navy in July, 1951, and is presently stationed in Japan, & serving an a "fire man." The two brothers met in California while George was in basic training. They also 'chanced to meet twice in Japan while both were on leave and spent some time together. Tom and George are the sons of Anna and Juraj Kata linich, of South Cle Elum. Their mother was born in Lic -gorski Kotar and their fa ther in Melnica, Lika. The boys have one brother and three sisters at home. To both these deserving young men we wish loads of good luck and fortune and may they soon return to our midst safe and sound. East Pittsburgh Nest To Stage Yule Social Saturday, December 18 E. East 36th Street and Superior Ave. All parents are asked to kindly make reservations for their children just as soon as possible, since the Committee would like to purchase suit able gifts for the various age groups in our Nest. By the way, you older folks are also invited to enjoy this funfest. The more the mer rier. Coming? Marie Sekel, Mgr. Record Crowd Attends Tarns' Zeigler Concert Zeigler, 111. We wish to extend our most sincere thanks to all the members of CFU Lodge 452 and wonder ful people who attended the recent Concert staged by the famous Duquesne University Tamburitzans. The well known ensemble played to a full house and the audience was very appre ciative of all the talent and performances of the well versed stars of the show. In fact, people came from as far as one hundred miles to see the event and we know were well satisfied for making the trip. Our appreciation goes out to the Director and members of the Orchestra who worked so hard in preparing such a wonderful program. We are also grateful to the Glodich Brothers Motor Sales Company, of West Frankfort, for donating its half hour of radio time over Station WF RX to the Tammies, and to Station WJPF and the news papers. Needless to say our thanks go out to the Editors of the Zajedničar for the wide pub licity which helped to make this concert the tremendous success that it was. Canton Juniors Awaiting December 12 Treat, Refreshers And Gift Exchange Canton, Ohio As is our annual custom, the members of CFU Lodge 514 are once again making preparations to give the youngsters of Junior Nest 196 their Christmas treat on Sunday, December 12, at the American Croatian Home, 2553 Winfield Way, N. E. An interesting program is being formulated and is sla ted to begin at 3:00 PM. It will include the singing of fa vorite Christmas carols by the youngsters of the Nest, the talents of Marie Bieyl and Anna Cantor on the violin, and community singing by all our guests. As in bygone years, the young sters of Junior Nest 57 will once again be feted at the Annual Christmas Party on Saturday, December 18, at the Croatian Hall, promptly at 7:00 PM. The program of events will include a visit from old St. Nick himself, toting a heavy bag laden with the stuff that puts the spar kle in youngsters' eyes, and interesting movies. Thanks to the generosity of CFU Lodges 20, 76 and 98, and that of the Croatian Club and "Hrvatske Zene," these annual gala events are made possible and we, in behalf of the children of the Nest, are very grateful. St. Louis Group Stage Party St. Louis, Mo. The Cen tral Committee of CFU Lod ges and Junior Nests in St. Louis is making elaborate plans to stage a gigantic Christmas Party for the en tire membership of our St. Louis Junior Nests on Sun day, December 12, at the Croatian Church Hall, 12th and Russell Blvds. Our interesting program will be comprised of selected talent of all sorts and is sure to please all those in attend ance, both young and old alike. Through the courtesy of the St. Louis National League Baseball Club, we will be pri vileged to present for your viewing a most interesting 30-minute technicolor film en titled "Let's Train With The Cardinals." We have it on good autho rity that Santa Claus will be in attendance, toting i s usual bag of goodies for the youngsters. We'll have can dies and a valuable gift and a toy for each member in at tendance. Tasty refreshments will be served the kiddies. The correct addresa for the party is the Yugoslav Sokol Hall, 580 Eddy St.. and not at the new Croatian Home as this writer advised you in his previous article. Due to a misunderstanding among the parties concerned, it was not possible to carry through the tentative original decision the only blame lies with the undersigned for as suming the decision was final before definite commitments were obtained. We hope you parents will see to it that your children share in the special thrill which we have in store for them at this festive Yuletide event. Send or bring them down to the Croatian Home and watch the shine in their eyes as they join the fun. Masontown Prez Asks Young To Take Interest Masontown, Pa. We'd like to inform all members of "Bratska Sloga" C. F. U. Lodge 566 that the regular and annual meetings will take place on Sunday, December 19, at the Slovak Hall, West Masontown, promptly at 1:00 PM. The annual session during which we have the election of officers for the new year will follow in short order. It is the duty of every member to attend and cast a ballot for those who are best suited for leadership of our Lodge. We urge the younger gen eration to take an active part at this meeting and in the year ahead since it has previ ously been decreed that the English language will offi cially replace the mother tongue which has been spo ken in our midst since our organization.
