At the No vember 28th meeting of the Lyons Lodge 228 "Spares and Strikes" seekers, namely on our regular bowling night, the Lyons Trucking team drop ped three games to the Jadro Tavern. Clydes Saving and Loan picked up two from the Baldis Tavern, while Charles Grocers took two from the Lyons Saving and Loan. W. G. Smith was able, to edge the Lodgemen for a dual win, while Shell Service was too accommodating as they dropped three to the Pavlak Undertakers. Several good series and games were rolled but it took a member of the fair sex'to cause the bowlers to keep an eye on alley Nor 3 where Mil lie Ruzic (a La Ladawig) kept the pins churning to the tune of 227-174-534 series. I guess Millie did not have enough turkey at home, the excuse most of us used for our mediocre bowling. Bob Meine had his evening spoiled by a small game to hold his scries down to 216 222-581. Charles Milos took the same route, 198-217-545. Angelo Ribarich increased his average with a 188-183 530. The rest of tis had a good time regardless. Frank Braidic, Director Sports-Educational Dept. Home Offices Clubs In Steady Improvement Pittsburgh, Pa. As the result of the December 13th rolling of the Home Office League, the Clubs who floun dered in last place for all of six weeks now sport a nine game winning streak. This is the longest such skein in our circuit and saying it here is actually tempting the gods. In putting sarae.lo-^ gether the string of victories was achieved by stopping each of the three mentioned teams after they had been riding a six game winning streak. The Clubs blanking of the Diamonds, themselves holders of team scoring records, was spearheaded by Dr. Arch, Sr. in his best form of the year, 181-493 which netted him the male seasonal three game high. The Clubs also punched out a 532 single game total, two sticks behind the record, and went on to total a new three game high of 1523. twenty five pins better than the one held by the Diamonds. There was also a shift in the individual averages list ing. We won't mention those who slid. But the top bowler is Tony Brajdic of the Hearts, second being Dr. Arch, Sr. af ter his terrific pacing of the Clubs in their rise. Another man seeking a niche higher and hard to be ignored is Milan Vranes, who on alternate weeks has cop ped one or both male session al highs, the same which could be said of Rita Cvetas whose improved bowling has catapulated her to being rec koned with and with her also the Clubs.
