r- MAY 28, 1958 1 PJI V v E N I S S E I O N the 1 sx S Vs- PAGE 9 I i s ments. n Pbilip Paulin, Pub. Amer & \n\n Among the many sub jects to be discussed during the June 7 sessions is the Croatian Fraternal Union's ultra-modern "Family Group Plan of Insurance," which should go down in time as one of the best sell ers in the long history of the Society. Significantly, the Croatian Fraternal Union is one of the very first fraternals on the North American Continent to adopt this line of business and definitely the first so-called "nationality fr a e n a 1" to make such protection avail able to its present day mem bers and prospects for mem bership in the United States, Canada, and Alaska. Five Main Benefits To describe the CFU Fam ily Plan briefly, there are ma ny different types of bene fits. The most popular, and the one whjch we recommend that all interested consider, is one which provides five main ben efits which are all tied up in one contract. That is the main feature of the Family Plan. One contract provides for Insurance on the entire family. Only one premium is to be paid, which is deter mined from the age of the husband, or father, so that it is a very neat, simple package. That is what we think is causing th£ success of the plan—the demand for simpli city. Benefits In Nutshell The benefits in a unit of insurance on this CFU Plan can be summarized as fol lows: 1. $5,000 of Endowment at 85 (m the husband. 2. There is $1,000 of Term to Age 65, of the husband, on the wife. You should observe that it is not to the wife's age of 65, but of the hus band's age. 3. Each child, regardless of number, and without af fecting the premium paid by the husband is entitled to $1,000 of insurance on the Term to Age 25 plan. The significance there is that the same premium is charged, regardless of the West Penn United Lodges To Sponsor Training School District Lodge And Nest Officials To Gather June 7 At Croatian Center For Briefing On Art of Selling CFU Joseph Bella and Martin Krasich Will Serve As Instructors From Home Office During Undertaking of First Magnitude PITTSBURGH The Croatian Fraternal Union's 2nd Training School for Lodge and Nest Officials will be held Saturday, June 7, 1958, at the Croatian Center, located off Babcock Bvld., in Mill vale, Pa. Called at the request of the Society's Western Pennsyl vania United Lodges, the School will be supervised by bros. Supreme Secretary Joseph Bella and Supreme Treasurer Martin Krasich, who conduc-f ted the first such classes number of children. April 26-27 last in Chicago. If there are no children, the rate is the same, as if there were 10 or more (as suming, of course, the given age of the husband). 4. Double Indemnity, which provides that in event of ac cidental death of the husband or wife but not the chil dren the death benefit is doubled. Should Husband Die We would like to call the 5th benefit a Waiver Benefit that is comprised of several parts. (a) If the husband dies, his death benefit is paid to the beneficiary, but the contract for the remaining benefits is continued in force without further payment of premium. Benefits, of course, run to the expiration of the regular benefit period, Term to age 65 of the husband, and to age 25 of the children. (b) If the husband is dis abled, the premiums on the entire contract, including i s o w n e n e i s a e waived during the period of disability. (c) If the wife dies while the husband is living, her death benefit is paid to the beneficiary and her insurance is transferred to the husband. He would then have $6,000 of insurance, rather than only $5,000. That extra thousand dollars of insurance is Term to Age 65. The reason for that is so that no adjustment will be required in the premium for the death of any family mem ber. Fairness To Disabled The customary disability clause is a six-month retroac tive disability benefit. In other words, there is a 6 months' waiting period dur ing which the insured must be totally and permanently dis abled. If, at the end of that period, the disability still ex ists, dues are waived retroac tively for that six months' period and for as long hence forward as that disability ex ists. Premiums are payable to Age 85 of the insured, or his prior death or disability, as the case may be. There is no reduction at age 65. In discussing the Options to be found in this Plan, we said last week "that after reaching 85 years, the insur ance benefit is payable tQt the member." This is incorrect. It was very nice having our Secretary of the CFU Board of Trustees, sis. Syl via Niksic, and her hus band of Gary, Ind., on hand for our celebration. Sis. The Croatian Fraternal Union of ica extends best wishes for success on the occasion. The same also holds true in the case of those protected under the 20-Pay Endowment at Age 85 Plan. But under the 20-Year Endowment Plan, which we discussed a week ago, af ter the member selects Op tions Nos. 1 or 2 the insur ance is payable to the ben eficiaries after the rath of the member. Perhaps this is not of para mount importance, for only a very small percentage of our members attain the age of 85 years. But for the sake of accura cy, this explanation was and is in order.
