The Croa tian Home at 30 Grant Ave nue will be the setting of the Annual Nest 21 Christmas Party on Sunday, December 21, beginning at 1 p.m. This year our talented jun ior members will present a musical program with our tamburitzans, kolo dancers, and recently organized glee club singing our favorite Cro atian Christmas Carols. Santa Claus will be on hand to greet the children and distribute boxes of chocolate« to them. The usual refreshments, hot dogs, cake, ice cream, and pop, will be served and door prizes will be awarded to the children. We ask that all parents send their children to the par ty and accompany them if they wish. The members who cannot come for their candy may send a representative to receive same for them. To our President, TVfWlt Vinski, the officers of Lodge 4, and the commit tee, many thanks for your cooperation and help in the past year. Also to all ffi&ribers of the Croatian Fraternal Union a wish for a Merry Christmas and a New Year filled with happiness. Rose Ann Cvitkovic, Mgr. Membership Campaign Goal Of 6,000 In Sight As Lodge, Nest Officials Strive To Win Conservation Awards Total of 104 Recruiters Credited With 100 Or More Points As 2-Year Campaign For New Members Rounds Out 11th Month By Michael Grasha, Chairman, Campaign Comm. PITTSBURGH Our membership campaign rolls on in high gear! Statistics are now available for the first eleven months of the 2 year drive and they are most gratifying, proving, once again, that our Croatian Fraternal Union is making giant strides cm a strictly fraternal basis—its uniquely successful "member get a member" modus ope randi. In November these dedicated exponents of fraternal ism brought us 570 new members and $512,700 in new in surance. The total new membership enrollment to the end of last month amounted to 5,394. Of this amount 3,430 are junior and 1,964 senior members. Our Canadian zealots brought in 988 while the remaining 4,456 affiliated with CFU units in the U. S. Insurance-wise we are close to the five million mark— $4,770,600 to be exact. Of this amount Canadians accounted for $902,400 while the remaining $3,868,200 rests on U, S. membership. The Junior Order's coverage has been in creased by $2,420,600 while the adult department takes the remaining $2,350,000. These are in every respect adequate, healthy figures. Here now is the monthly record of achievement, eleven months of outstanding production by our volunteer army of recruiters: Month Mew Membua Ktw Tmrarnac« January 461 $367,000 February 531 453,600 March 514 437,200 April 423 391,900 May 375 350,300 June 447 July 454 395,000 August 486 454,800 September 627 547,200 October 499 457.500 November 570 512,700 Totals 5,394 $4,770,600 The foregoing statistics show that November was defi nitely a banner month outclassed only by the exceptional record of September. In one respect, however, that of new senior members signed up, November's 215, is tops for the course thus far. It is obvious too that our avowed goal for the year is not beyond reach. We need but 606 new members in Decem ber to reach 6000. Admittedly, that is setting our sights pretty high and if our campaigners hadn't done even better than that in (Turn to page 10 for Campaign Standings) September, we'd be just a bit dubious about attaining it. We're certain, however, that you standard-bearers in the field will make it again. We appeal to each and every one of you to make that little extra effort. Won't you lodge secretaries and nest managers join the crusade? You know that your membership standing may weH entitle you to that Conservation Award, over and above the very generous proposer pay ment. Remember that if your membership has fallen below the count at the beginning of the year you have less than 2 weeks to make up the deficiency. The Duquesne University students will spend two days sight-seeing in the State of Florida, planning stops at Cypress Gardens and Marine land. On Wednesday, Decem ber 31, the Tamburitzans are scheduled to appear at the fabulous Governor's Club in the heart of Fort Lauderdale.
